Yes, comparing Modi era with Nehru’s is right. Not to do so would be injustice to millions who suffered because of Nehru. For example, Hindu Bengali refugees. Their children, grandchildren must never forget that their people were abandoned and thrown to the wolves by Jawaharlal Nehru before, during and after Partition. Nehru despised dark-skinned Hindu Bengali refugees, among them my father, his siblings, their widowed mother and grandmother, fleeing rapacious and murderous Muslim League mobs in East Bengal; he did not want them to seek shelter in India. Nehru wrote to CM BC Roy, instructing him not to let Hindu Bengali refugees enter West Bengal. Push them back from the border, Nehru said, don’t let them in. Nehru insisted Hindu Bengalis of East Bengal / East Pakistan were coming to India for free-loading at the expense of Indians. He cut back Central funds for West Bengal to stop the meagre refugee assistance by way of a couple of kilos of inedible worm-infested rotten rice for Hindu Bengalis. Hindu Bengali refugee women and children separated from their families, or widowed and orphaned in the Noakhali genocide and subsequent Partition Massacre of Hindus, rummaged in garbage bins and pitifully begged for morsels of food. Hindu Bengali refugee children in rags with dark large sad eyes greedily licked on used banana leaves dumped on the streets by eateries, also known as ‘pice hotels’ in Kolkata parlance, of which there was a profusion in the post-War years. Emaciated babies and rickety children of Hindu Bengali refugees huddled with stray dogs on pavements. Many Hindu Bengali refugees lived on ‘rice water’ or ‘fan’ (the starchy water that is thrown away after boiling rice) collected from homes of compassionate Bengalis who had little food to share. In the morning and evening there were pheriwallahs hawking their wares; in the afternoon there were Hindu Bengali refugee women in tattered sarees that barely covered their bodies and naked children with battered and bruised aluminium pots going from house to house, begging for ‘rice water’: “Ma, fan daao Ma…” Those voices of has hunger were to haunt Hindu Bengali refugees like my parents for long, often till death. Driven by hate for Hindu Bengali refugees, Nehru ordered horrifyingly, nauseatingly squalid and disease-ridden refugee camps to be named ‘Permanent Liability Camps’ or PLCs — PLC 1, PLC 2… — reminiscent of the ‘Permanent Solution Camps’ of the Nazis. When despite his best efforts Nehru failed to push back the Hindu Bengali refugees to be slaughtered in East Bengal/East Pakistan, Nehru brought his devastating Freight Equalisation Policy which collapsed industry in West Bengal. Tens of thousands of jobs were destroyed and the Hindu Bengali was rendered jobless: Those who lost their jobs and businesses began turning on Hindu Bengali refugees just as Nehru had hoped. Yet Nehru could not break the spirit of the Hindu Bengali refugees who were grateful to Bharat and determined to help rebuild this great nation savaged by invaders and colonisers especially John Company. Through generations we Hindu Bengali refugees toiled, we built, we paid taxes, we sacrificed for the Nation, our Nation, we succeeded in establishing ourselves as dutiful, law-abiding, loyal citizens of India. Having lost our home and hearth, we had no other home but India. We Hindu Bengali refugees were hived off to malaria-infested inhospitable Dandakaranya and we cleared forests and made the soil fertile. We were packed off to Andaman and we rebuilt our lives there. When we tried to set up home at Marichjhapi we were slaughtered: the estuaries turned red with our blood. We grieved, we got up, we overcame that setback. We lived with dignity and honour, we earned our food, we were not freeloaders. We were poor but we were honest: we had integrity. Cut to 2026. So who have proved to be India’s ‘Permanent Liability’ cadging off the state and living on unearned money? Nehru Dynasty.

Since this post is going viral, here is another #GSThorror story There are some elaborate ways of defrauding the system of taxes involving ITC which is also facilitated by loopholes in the tax filing process – discussing that would require a 5000-word post, so I will desist. But for those interested, you can read up about bill trading. One of the ways in which the system combats this menace which potentially causes trillions in tax losses, is Rule 86-A, which empowers the taxman to block ITC of any businessman if he has “reasonable cause” to believe that the ITC was fraudulently availed. Ok, now on to the story. A few months back, a bunch of businessmen operating in the steel sector in my city – including one of my personal acquaintances – were slapped with notices under this rule, blocking ITC aggregating to Rs.60 million, for transactions related to the period 2021 to 2024. The stated reason – Supplier X from whom these people had purchased goods (and taken ITC credit) was declared to be “non-existent” and hence all those purchase transactions were fake. But here is the thing – the supplier was very much “existing” during the said period. There was concrete evidence of the same – power bills for the factory running into tens of millions, his GST filings, company annual returns, income tax returns and so on. The supplier had closed down his business in early 2025, not in small part due to the pain of GST terror and compliance burden. The panicked recipients of the notices went to meet the taxman, taking along the supplier and with all the aforementioned evidence. The taxman was unmoved. So next they moved to the court but the latter dismissed the petition asking them to exhaust the appeals process via the department first. Before filing an appeal, 20% of the blocked ITC needs to be deposited. The legal costs in this case would have added another couple of million Rupees. Having figured out that legal process was not worth the effort, the group sent a message to the taxman requesting a deal. Initial demand-Rs.12 million. After lots of hard bargaining, it was finally settled for Rs.8 million.. There is a lot to unpack here. I will leave out the technical and legal aspects. One, there is just a stunning level of discretionary powers vested with our tax babus, who exercise it with a singular focus on national building and punishing the tax evaders in a parasitical manner – for personal enrichment and of their political bosses – indulging in rampant rent-seeking and shakedown of the taxpayers. They have the power to severely disrupt the business operations of an average businessman for the most frivolous of reasons. And there is very little downside for such abuse of power. Two, the presumption of guilt with regard to ITC flouts all principles of natural justice. In this case, for example, all the customers of the Supplier X are assumed to have colluded with him in the “fraud”. The law leaves no scope for a presumption that many customers might have been unwitting victims of the fraud. And this rule is not just applicable in case of fraud. Even in case of legitimate transactions, if the supplier fails to deposit the tax paid by the buyer, the department can go after the buyer for the unpaid dues (and this rule persists even after court judgements have held it to be untenable). Three, the corollary to the above is that the primary responsibility for tax evasion/fraud across his supply chain rests with the businessman. In other words, the tax department has outsourced its job of enforcing tax compliance on to private citizens. The repeated message from Nirmala Seetharaman and her finmin babus to industry groups complaints regarding ITC has been very clear – the businessmen must ensure that they trade only with genuine parties.

Yet another #GSTHorror story. A highly reputed business family running one of the most popular shops in a town for generations. Monthly turnover must be in crores. They get a notice for a tax demand for petty amount. A few thousands. They respond to the notice disputing the claim. The tax officer sends orders to the banks to freeze the businesses' bank account. The bank manager immediately calls up the family to inform them and helplessly tells they have no choice but to comply. The family is shell-shocked. The reputation they had built up over decades would be in tatters when their cheques don't get honoured. All for a few thousand rupees when they pay millions as GST every month. Shaken, they settle the demand. Dear @nsitharaman @narendramodi this is the kind of tax terror that goes on in the name of GST - the 10th year of the Good and Simple Tax. Few things to note: - neither the bank manager nor the bizman knows whether the tax officer has the powers to do this. - but that doesn't matter. It's the asymmetry in power and outcomes. Look at what the bizman gets to lose (and it is immediate) vs what the tax officer would lose (after a long drawn out process) if he is shown to have broken rules. High time we curtail the discretionary powers of this parasitic, bloodsucking babudom. When is Modi going to get this?

As many as eight Hindu majority States have had at least one non-Hindu Chief minister, but not a single non-Hindu majority State has ever had a Hindu Chief minister. India is safe, secure, prosperous, plural, and empowering for non-Hindus only because India is majority Hindu.

If the IT Department does nothing but investigate the assets/income of bureaucrats and their kin for the next five years, we will find enough money to run the country for a few years 😂
50 IAS-IPS officers bought land near proposed bypass:₹3200-crore project approved 16 months later; land value jumped 11 times. Around 50 officers from across the country jointly purchased agricultural land in Guradi Ghat village of Bhopal’s Kolar area on the same day. Just 16 months after the land deal, the ₹3200-crore Western Bypass project was approved through the same area. Ten months later, the land use was changed from agricultural to residential, causing prices to rise nearly 11 times. bhaskarenglish.in/local/mp/n…

People will hate me for saying this, but the reason North India produces so many more UPSC aspirants is not that it is uniquely more talented. It is that large parts of the North are still a dead zone when it comes to decent private-sector alternatives, so the state remains the biggest imaginable ladder of mobility. There is also a more feudal relationship with power here. In much of the South, aspirational young people dream of MNC jobs, tech careers, startups or moving abroad. In the North, the IAS/IPS officer is still imagined as a modern-day king, the embodiment of "mai-baap sarkar". South India has movie-star hero worship; North India has babu hero worship. That is why so much of the Singham-entry reel nautanki also comes from officers from this belt. As private-sector opportunity deepens and this mindset changes, the UPSC obsession in the North will also slowly lose its hold. But it will take several decades to happen.
South India is called “more educated” than North India. Then why more IAS officers come from North India ? According to data, IAS Officers by state:
UP → 571
MP → 391
Maharashtra → 359
Tamil Nadu → 343
Bihar → 303 Karnataka → 273 Rajasthan → 268 Kerala → 173 But when you see per 1 crore population: Tamil Nadu → 42
Kerala → 42
Telangana → 40
Andhra Pradesh → 40
Bihar → 31
UP → 29
MP → 13 Conclusion:
North India has huge population, so total numbers look bigger.

Are you dumb Keshav? You are obsessing over terminology while ignoring the fact that the Modi government doubled Muslim participation in govt jobs. And yes, most of the Minority Affairs ministry’s benefits are disproportionately availed by Muslims. So far, over Rs I lakh crore has been distributed by central and state governments under minority welfare schemes, much of it flowing to Muslims. They even pay salaries to imams & Maulana’s from tax payers funds! By comparison, what have Hindus received from this govt? SC/ST Act? Higher reservations? UGC support? Or just the atomisation of Hindu society through endless Ambedkarism? Hindu temples are looted, while Waqf institutions receive state funds and legal protection. You people are delusional. By branding Sanghis as anti Muslim, you only push more Hindus toward them. Whereas the reality is that Sanghis are the biggest anti Hindu force.
“Naukri Jihad” That’s your evidence? How many Muslim ministers are there in the BJP government? How many MPs? Allocation to minority ministry is now Muslim appeasement? Try becoming a Muslim in this country for 1 week, you’ll get to know how much Muslims are being “appeased”

Just #watch this video to know that in a Hindu majority country Hindus are treated worse than even fourth grade citizens ,,stripped of dignity in their own land. Where Central examination laws shamelessly allow Muslim students to enter examination halls with burqas and skull caps but but but.. Hindus children are asked to remove even their kalava, janeyu, mangalsutra etc subjecting them to such brazen dehumanisation in their own land. It’s got only worse in last 12 yrs! Pathetic is an understatement!

In 2021 we had come out in London in multiple locations to protest against the TMC political violence in West Bengal. The image went viral and a radical supporter of Mamta Bannerji, who was employed in a IT company in UK, threatened us. He tagged the TMC cadre, Mamata Bannerji and Derek O Brien, asking them to identify us (we were wearing masks because of Covid) implying that they should go after us and we be taught a lesson. It was a real threat for those with families back home in West Bengal. Five years and West Bengal has broken this very thuggery, corruption and political violence. May it rise again in all its glory. Jai Ma Durga! #WestBengal
