Woohoo! We've gotten a new JK Rowling
#SleepTightEvangeline header for Strike 9 this Sunday! The image shows the statue of Robert Raikes in Victoria Embankment Gardens in London.

Some very quick searches gave me this (please forgive the chaotic order. I don't want to forget anything):
Raikes had worked on prison reform for years and through that work realised that crime was linked to education and social class. He felt that educating young people was probably more effective than reforming adults so he opened the first (of many) Sunday Schools for children. He used the bible and psalms to teach children to read. We saw that psalm charm on Jo's gold bracelet (and a devil in the box). Raikes might be sort of the father of British education. But the classes in those schools were given by all local women from what I can find, often mothers.
Some of the other Cormoran Strike headers also have an obvious link to children, like the treehouse and the dolls. Both (gave me the creeps and) made me feel like they show a false safe space. The trojan horse and devil in the box kind of do the same.
The York Minster header (religion) and Portsmouth (navy) header link to other authorities. You could say that education could be the third authority we see. Is this about protection systems/institutions that claim to help young people but actually do harm?
There seem to be more links to mothers, like Persephone and her mother, and a mother in law (Cupid's mom Venus). The title of the book offers a parental/child link IMO with its 'Sleep Tight'. The name Evangeline links to religion, as does of course York.
If The Hallmarked Man was focused on men, and had a silver lining π, perhaps Sleep Tight, Evangeline is focused on mothers? With a heart of gold, or a golden cage? It's an interesting juxtaposition: will see the hidden labor of women, with perhaps also a corrupt matriarchy? That would be another dark mirror like the male heroes and scumbags-who-deserve-to-be-hit-with-a-priest in THM.
Another interesting dark mirror is the location of the Raikes statue. It's located in a public park, but is built on or near underground sewers and a railroad, see pic below. In the 1860s Joseph Bazalgette built the city's underground sewer network to rescue London from the 'Great Stink' and the deadly cholera epidemics that came with it. Gross, but there's your possible Strike poop link. Anyways, the dirt is gilded over with that public garden, like some systemic dirt is also hidden away. Maybe we'll see institutional rot by or against women that is being covered up.
Some random thoughts now that we have this new header: crocodiles lie waiting underneath the surface, but there are also crocodile tears. And we have that coffin emoji that also in hidden the ground.
My assumption for now is that this header is more about the investigation for the next Robert Galbraith book than about Cormoran and Robin's relationship. Maybe. Yeah. I dunno.
