Things that won't be in Madden 27 #10:
GameFlow. Shoutout to Ian Cummings because this actually was a good idea. It accomplished two things at once:
1. Faster playcaling. If you liked the play, you pressed one button and you lined up.
2. It reduced screen clutter by 98%.

The ability to select flurries without snow coverage. It's the most common snow condition we see during the NFL season. It was only available in Madden 23 and 24 as a glitch. Looks awesome, won't be in M27:

The Birmingham Stallions have experienced a total turnaround since trading for Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Mid-season trades can improve team quality, and it's something I want to see happening in the UFL more going forward.

Rigs Mechanized Combat League is one of the greatest VR games of all-time, and it was completely mishandled. Released too early, not promoted well enough, and killed off when what it needed was a re-introduction once PSVR1 reached higher sales levels @PlayStation

2/2 Operation Sports began harassing & banning any members who spoke negatively about Madden. They can bullshit all they want about how they weren't doing that, but everyone saw right through their behaviors. OS destroyed the best critical line Madden had.

This was straight up a failure of leadership and vision. If it were not for gamers complaining so much between Madden 08 and 09, the Madden you have today would be guys throwing flaming footballs and other kinds of over-the-top nonsense. That was coming.

When you hire casual fans of football, you get the types of inaccurate results that casual fans would produce. Even when they hired people with the background, they still took the game in unrealistic directions that made no sense to simulating the sport.

Ian is right that marketing had way too much influence on things. I HATED that they were in on our meetings so much. But marketing wasn't F'ing up presentation camera angles, or making bad animations. These were skill/judgement issues made by people who aren't football fanatics.

Madden is the way it is for a complex set of reasons that you will never understand unless you actually worked there. But I can assure you, a majority of those problems could have been fixed years ago if they had just hired guys who are football fanatics.

Despite my background that includes executive-level roles and also successful ownership in addition to having worked on Madden for 3 seasons, I had a Game Changer tell me I didn't understand business and I didn't understand why Madden is the way it is.
