I'm an educator but I am around and know a lot of people who did not graduate from HS. This is an important note. 🫢🏾 #graduation #school

Shout out to the various @slpsofcolor who have provided so much counseling and encouraging words while I work to get my Kindergartener the #Speech & #Languange therapies he deserves 😊

Soooo excited that my Reading Club idea for our 5th girl students is finally popping off. Strategizing with my principal brought it all home #equityineducation #edutwitter #readingcommunity #BookLover

Best part of moving from #classroom teacher to #academic coach is flexibility and the use of my intellect to problem solve. Now when I see babies reading/solving mathematical equations 2 grade levels behind I am the Coach to secure their intensive interventions 🫢🏿😊 #edutwitter

Someone shouted out "Go head Beyonce!" the other day and that is my #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackExcellence moment 🀣

Last Thursday marked my first month at my new job. It's wildly different but today was the first day I did my fist pump of excellence for getting the thing done and yesterday was the first day I pulled out "I got you covered like a quilt" to a fellow Academic Coach.πŸ˜† #edutwitter

1 thing I did as a teacher is walk around and make sure to say something affirming to my Ss. Especially if they had a new look or style. I also made sure to say it to the quiet Ss who lacked big friend groups. #teacherandstudent #teachersoftwitter
it costs you nothing to affirm the people you love.

Every term I come up with my Educator's purpose. My new purpose starting tomorrow: "my presence is to come and bring life & to give it abundantly" #teachertwitter #teacherandstudent #teachersoftwitter
This is so important! 🧑

I had so many Black women mentors and peers lift me up in my career. Beyond grateful #edutwitter

Teacher tired isn't just about all the decisions made each day or trying to engage and teach a classroom full of students, which is a lot, but it is also the energy, love, & care that they put into helping all those students become their best self. Thank You Teachers!

Charter school for Black students gets approved in Denver We need more schools that are designed to be culturally affirming. They won't always be set up to succeed, but we need to keep trying to build them up. revolt.tv/article/2022-09-26…

My 5-year-old son has asthma & every day he takes medication for it as well as supplements. The one thing that gets me every time is how easily he can slip into a problem. Playing in the heat too long, being around people with respiratory illnesses, forgetting 1 supplement.
My next #summerreads but there is no audio book πŸ˜₯

My #sketchnote of ch. 4 of my teacher @TchKimPossible’s Literacy is Liberation. The #MVSummerLearns routine of good coffee, a stunning book, and time to be drawn in by all this coming year could make of us.

I'm a planner person without a new planner to covet. It feels off and wrong πŸ˜₯. I need good planner suggestions for the fall. #planner2022 #planning
How tragic, I was reading Fear Street by 12 and Stephen King by 14. My mother always encouraged my reading but she never, not once, acted as an overlord to what I digested. She trusted me, and if she didn't like what I was reading we would talk about it and as a result, I grew.
As highly visible and politicized book bans have exploded across the country, librarians have found themselves on the front lines of an acrimonious culture war, with their careers and their personal reputations at risk. nyti.ms/3yloxWp

Teachers at this elementary school found that "I do, we do, you do" made their kids overly dependent on them for solutionsβ€”so they overhauled their math curriculum.
