ALT What is the difference? Open captioning vs closed captioning
Open Captioning refers to captioning information embedded on the movie screen without the need for any type of physical adjustment/equipment. It also includes background sounds (ie phone ringing or music playing, and changes in a person's tone (ie like laughter or anger). Closed Captioning requires the use of physical devices/equipement (ie captioning glasses and rear-window cupholder-type devices) to access captioning information. The captioning information is seen by the device user only.

Disabled women are 11 times more likely to die while giving birth compared to nondisabled women. These risks compound for Black, Indigenous & other disabled pregnant people of color. Today, we are advocating for policies that keep all disabled pregnant people safe. #DisCoRepro
Disabled pregnant people, particularly disabled people of color, face greater risk of death or complications during pregnancy and birth. Congress must pass the Black Maternal Health #Momnibus Act & increase funding to support HHS OCR enforcement. #DisCoRepro#AbortionIsHealthCare

The decision was an attack on bodily autonomy rooted in ableism, racism, sexism, and eugenics. On Disabled Reproductive Equity Day, we reclaim our rights and our bodies and move toward collective liberation.
