You’ve heard it a thousand times:
“The first 48 hours are everything.”
But is that actually true?
Yes — the first 48 hours in a missing person case are critical. Witness memories are fresh, surveillance may still exist, and evidence can disappear fast.
But here’s what people don’t talk about:
Some cases break open months… even YEARS later through digital evidence, DNA, surveillance, or one person finally speaking up.
Did true crime oversimplify the “48-hour rule”? 🤔
New Short up now.

MISSING AT SEA: WHAT HAPPENED TO MIGUEL CAMPOY?
A page dedicated to finding Miguel Campoy, reportedly run by his brother, shared this case with me — and after reading more, I wanted to help spread awareness.
Miguel Campoy, a 57-year-old sailor and Miami resident, vanished on September 6, 2025, while sailing his blue 44-foot sailboat, Hella, from South Abaco to Nassau, Bahamas.
According to reports, Miguel made contact during the trip and said conditions were calm, though the journey was taking longer than expected.
Then… silence.
Here’s where the case gets strange:
🔹 His dinghy was later found
🔹 Personal belongings, including his passport and credit cards, were reportedly still inside
🔹 But his main sailboat, Hella, has never been found
The U.S. Coast Guard and Bahamian authorities searched before suspending efforts, but Miguel’s family continues searching for answers.
Experienced sailor. Calm waters. Missing boat.
What do YOU think happened here?

Multiple aircraft have reportedly been circling the Saguaro National Park/Rincon area for hours, with some observers claiming law enforcement aviation is involved.
At this time, there is no official confirmation that the activity is connected to the Nancy Guthrie investigation. It could be SAR, mutual aid, training, or a separate emergency. Watching for confirmation from PCSD, PCSO, NPS, or local media.

UPDATE: It now appears the aircraft activity over the Saguaro National Park / Rincon area may be related to a wildfire response (reported as the “Box Fire”) rather than anything confirmed in the Nancy Guthrie case.
At this time, there is no official confirmation connecting today’s helicopter activity to Nancy’s investigation. Monitoring for updates from officials.

🚨 UPDATE: Just yesterday, it was reported that Derrick Callella had a June court date in the Nancy Guthrie ransom text case.
Now, there’s a significant development.
KGUN9 reports Callella is set to change his plea after previously pleading not guilty.
A change-of-plea hearing is scheduled in federal court.
Do you think a plea deal is coming?
This case remains separate from Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance investigation and relates to the alleged ransom texts sent to her family.

I’ve gone back and forth on posting this because I genuinely don’t know the answer.
Savannah Guthrie is a trained journalist, attorney, and has one of the largest media platforms in the country.
Her mother, Nancy Guthrie, has now been missing for months.
So here is my honest question:
Why has Savannah remained relatively quiet publicly compared to what many people might expect?
Before this gets twisted — this is NOT an accusation.
There may be very valid reasons:
• law enforcement guidance
• legal strategy
• private investigative efforts
• trauma/grief behind the scenes
But from a case-analysis perspective, it does raise an interesting discussion:
When someone has the skills, media access, and national reach to amplify a missing persons case… what role should public advocacy play?
Thoughtful discussion only.

The new reporting on Gen. Neil McCasland adds something this case has been missing for weeks: context.
A newly released surveillance image reportedly shows him calm and composed the day before he vanished.
But the records also describe growing health struggles, behavior changes, and concerns from those closest to him.
At the same time, major questions remain:
• Why leave without items he reportedly never left home without?
• What does the timeline really look like?
• And what happened after he walked out the door?
More context doesn’t solve a case.
But it can change how we understand it.

New charging documents in the Alex Zabel case allege deputies responded to reports of an “unwanted person” and claim Alex returned to the area after a prior arrest. The probable cause statement also includes an allegation that he urinated during a livestream and “actively resisted arrest.” These are allegations contained in court documents and have not been proven in court.
🚨 BREAKING | Berkeley, CA
Police are investigating after a deceased person was reportedly found near The Eucalyptus Grove at UC Berkeley.
Authorities have not yet released the individual’s identity or any details surrounding the circumstances. The Coroner’s Office was reportedly responding to the scene.
As of now, details remain limited and the investigation appears to be ongoing.

Derrick Callella — the man accused of allegedly sending fake ransom texts to Nancy Guthrie’s family — was released pending trial with pre-trial restrictions and is scheduled to appear in federal court in Tucson on June 23.
Reminder: he is not accused in Nancy’s disappearance, only the alleged ransom-related communications. 🤔

Regardless of where people stand on the verdict, one thing should be off limits: threats toward families.
Austin Metcalf’s family says they’re facing harassment and financial strain while scrutiny continues around the hundreds of thousands raised for Karmelo Anthony’s defense.
Has social media turned this case into something bigger—and uglier—than justice?

No matter how anyone feels about Alex…
If someone is under arrest and repeatedly asks “Why am I being arrested?” — they should be told the reason.
And respectfully… the interaction didn’t exactly come across as professional communication. Transparency and clear communication matter, especially in high-profile situations.
Maybe there’s context we haven’t seen, but optics matter too.

UPDATE: The anonymous tip that sparked a search in Mexico in the Nancy Guthrie case has now been addressed by the sheriff’s department.
Authorities say the lead was investigated, but no evidence tied to Nancy was found.
So what do you think — credible tip that led nowhere, or deliberate misinformation?

BREAKING: An anonymous tip claiming Nancy Guthrie was buried in an unmarked grave in Mexico reportedly sparked a search near Nogales.
The search, conducted by a volunteer missing persons group, did not locate Nancy’s remains. At this time, authorities have not confirmed any connection between the tip and the official investigation.
What do you think — credible lead or another dead end?

BREAKING: A body has been recovered from the water near Belle Isle as Michigan State Police investigate an abandoned vehicle found on the island.
Authorities say there is no threat to the public, but few details have been released and the investigation remains in its early stages. The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.
Questions remain: Was the vehicle connected to the person recovered — and what led investigators to search the water?

Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw says the search warrant that led to the tragic death of Const. Marc Pinizzotto was tied to an investigation into multiple shootings — including the March 2026 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Toronto.
According to U.S. court documents, Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi — identified by U.S. authorities as a senior member of Kata’ib Hizballah and an operative of Iran’s IRGC — allegedly claimed responsibility for multiple attacks in Canada, including the Toronto consulate shooting.
Toronto police are also searching for a second suspect, identified as 19-year-old Zara Jabbi.
A lot of questions remain about the full scope of this investigation and possible connections.
What do you think?

NEW: The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has publicly clarified that the kidnapping case involving wanted suspect Coral Michelle Smith — which occurred roughly 7 miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home — is NOT connected to Nancy’s disappearance.
The clarification comes after growing online speculation due to the close proximity of the cases. Smith is wanted in a separate May 29 kidnapping and aggravated assault investigation in Tucson, according to authorities.
Important reminder: proximity alone does not equal connection.
Nancy Guthrie remains missing and investigators say her case remains active.
Question: Do you think investigators already know enough to confidently rule out a connection — or is it too early for the public to dismiss the possibility entirely?

NEW: Fallout continues after the arrests in Nancy Guthrie’s neighborhood as the Pima County Attorney weighs in.
Authorities continue to frame the crackdown as a response to alleged behavior issues — not simply people covering the case — citing complaints about disturbances, roadway obstruction, trespassing, and other conduct in the area. Sheriff Chris Nanos has also defended the increased enforcement approach. At the same time, questions continue over where the line is between lawful public access and chargeable conduct.
Important reminder: an arrest is not a conviction. Charges still have to be reviewed and proven in court.
