Huh. Interestingly, as I’m reading through Dante’s Commedia, I notice how musical it is, especially Purgatory. No doubt Virgil’s influence.
Virgil's Aeneid is all about music. It's all about songs. Following Pythagoras, and against Plato, Virgil is instructing in moral virtue and showing moral liability through the songs of the various characters: Aeneas, Dido, and Turnus. Music is the world, it also instructs.
