On this day 63 years ago, Florida State baseball scored three runs in the ninth inning to open the College World Series with a 5-2 win over Western Michigan. Mike Augustine's RBI single in the inning ultimately put FSU ahead for good. Billy Williamson finished 3-for-4 with a run.
