Can you imagine Muslims publicly leaving Islam in Mecca?
Can you imagine not just a few, but hundreds openly renouncing Islam — not in secret, not quietly — but in Mecca itself?
Now imagine those former Muslims opening churches in Mecca, singing worship songs to Jesus just steps away from Islam’s holiest sites.
What would happen to them?
Now reverse the image.
Messianic Jews — Jewish believers in Jesus — are converts from Judaism to Christianity. They have multiple congregations in Israel, including in Jerusalem, where they gather openly and worship Jesus.
Yes, they face criticism. Yes, some experience hostility from segments of Jewish society. But they are alive. They are free. They are not executed for apostasy. The government does not imprison them for conversion. Their churches are not systematically shut down. Their Bibles are not confiscated by the state. They are not forced to flee the country to save their lives.
Compare that reality with what Muslim-background believers often face in parts of the Islamic world.
Yet we are told that Israel persecutes Christians — and that Islam is harmless.
The contrast speaks for itself.
