This reader was offered a refund on a hotel stay he could no longer use after his wife sadly died... but then the Crowne Plaza hotel said it was a mistake and took it back. Unbelievable, really. thisismoney.co.uk/money/bill…

My wife died - now Crowne Plaza is hotel is rowing back on our refund

The hotel is claiming the offer to write off the bill was an error because the member of staff's first language was not English.
