If you are going to try to trade - or have made big gains on something - Glen's thoughts on profit taking when riding high to avoid misery when stuff sinks are worth mulling over.
I can't overstate how much this tactic has helped me in recent years.
In the past, during a sharp correction, my nerves would be shredded. But today I'm on my way to speak at a conference, calm and focused, because whatever happens now, I've got a chunk of profit banked.
If the market recovers to a new high, people will say I shouldn't have taken some profit, but life is about more than just the end position. I don't want to be stressed and miserable for weeks or months at a time as a market has a serious correction (as they all inevitably do).
I'll talk more about Bitcoin in the coming days. There are some great reasons to think it will recover strongly... and some great reasons to think it will fall further. There's no certainty in this game, so you have to protect yourself emotionally as well as financially.
