Seraphim Space Investment Trust's Mark Boggett joined me for an Investing Show interview that I very much enjoyed. A hot topic, that's very interesting and some real gems here from Mark on what it was like getting Seraphim started. thisismoney.co.uk/money/inve…

Can you turn £500 into £10,000 fast on the stock market? Everything I know says this is a bad investment aim but I'm taking part in our race to £10K to see how I fare against crypto, antiques, fashion reselling, sports betting... and a monkey with a pin dailymail.co.uk/money/invest…

Bravo, Mia Brookes. So close to the podium. Fantastic effort but what really counts is Mia’s got style to spare and is in it for the love of snowboarding.

Should I say thanks for the memories - and the good returns in years gone by - and wave goodbye to Fundsmith and Finsbury Growth & Income? My column on Terry Smith and Nick Train - the reader comments are interesting thisismoney.co.uk/money/diyi…

We made need to build more homes but there is a disturbing short-termism baked in Labour's plans and pronouncements. It's not bats causing low growth.

Good news, the Chancellor says we are going to get £500 a year richer... that's £42 per month. What will you spend yours on?

You do need to ignore the environmental cost and damage to the countryside, as Labour rip up protections for this to be correct: 'For a zero-cost policy this is the biggest positive growth effect the OBR have ever taken on'

A good thread from John here
Been thinking about a wealth tax and the more I think about it, the dafter it gets. We do tax wealth in the UK already, surprising as that might seem to some. Quick thread (and comments welcome once you've read it):

If you are going to try to trade - or have made big gains on something - Glen's thoughts on profit taking when riding high to avoid misery when stuff sinks are worth mulling over.
I can't overstate how much this tactic has helped me in recent years. In the past, during a sharp correction, my nerves would be shredded. But today I'm on my way to speak at a conference, calm and focused, because whatever happens now, I've got a chunk of profit banked. If the market recovers to a new high, people will say I shouldn't have taken some profit, but life is about more than just the end position. I don't want to be stressed and miserable for weeks or months at a time as a market has a serious correction (as they all inevitably do). I'll talk more about Bitcoin in the coming days. There are some great reasons to think it will recover strongly... and some great reasons to think it will fall further. There's no certainty in this game, so you have to protect yourself emotionally as well as financially.
