Our A&E departments are very busy. Please think about whether A&E is the right place for your care before coming to our hospitals. NHS 111 online or your GP practice can advise if it is not an emergency. Your local pharmacy can help with minor ailments.

Today has been amazing from start to finish! A highlight of my career… being able to show our local community round our incredible new A&E department. So much fantastic feedback 🥰

What a great day!
100’s of my @CHFTNHS colleagues have been to see our amazing new department. So much excitement, great feedback and enthusiasm from staff across our organisation! 🤩 @EDCHFT1
Our wonderful A&E Receptionists, Lynn and Samantha, had a look round their soon-to-be new workplace earlier.
They’re just two of the friendly faces you’ll see working in the new A&E at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary when it opens.

The #juniordoctorsstrike means that there are fewer doctors working in our emergency departments.This is impacting on how quickly people can be seen.
If you come to Accident and Emergency and your condition is not life-threatening, you will have a long wait.

We are calling on local people to help us help those most in need by only attending A&E for life or limb-threatening emergencies.
