The rain can’t dampen our spirits today. There was top teamwork in action last night as our new A&E Department at HRI was opened to the public.
Please use your new department wisely – if you’re in doubt check with NHS111 online 111.nhs.uk/

Our A&E departments are very busy. Please think about whether A&E is the right place for your care before coming to our hospitals. NHS 111 online or your GP practice can advise if it is not an emergency. Your local pharmacy can help with minor ailments.

Just realised I haven't tweeted since Sep! Where did those months go?
I'm still here, absolutely loving my role as Operations Manager in Emergency Medicine (I can't say new role anymore! 😂)
Massive shout out to my fantastic ED Teams, who are amazing every day! @CHFTNHS@EDCHFT1
Our hospitals are extremely busy and we are asking for your help.
Please only come to A&E if your condition is life or limb-threatening. You will be waiting a long time to be seen, whilst we prioritise those with the most urgent need.
Our hospitals are under significant pressure due to the junior doctors’ industrial action this week.
If you attend A&E with a non-urgent condition, you will be waiting significantly longer than usual.

The #juniordoctorsstrike means that there are fewer doctors working in our emergency departments. This is impacting on how quickly people can be seen.
If you come to Accident and Emergency and your condition is not life-threatening, you will have a long wait.
⚠️ Our hospitals are due to be affected by the junior doctors industrial action between 7am on Monday 13th March and 7am on Thursday 16th March.⚠️

⚠️We have seen a huge increase in the number of people attending A&E since Christmas and there are currently very long waiting times.⚠️
We are calling on local people to help us help those most in need by only attending A&E for life or limb-threatening emergencies.
Thank you.
⚠️Our Accident and Emergency departments are facing unprecedented pressure and we are extremely busy.
If you come to A&E, please expect a significant wait. We will prioritise patients in order of clinical need to keep people as safe as possible. ⚠️
