Pollack is a recreationally important species, yet little is known about this fish. Recreational anglers & charter skippers have been working with researchers to learn more through #PollackFISP. Find more about the project in our new video youtube.com/watch?v=Tp0K5aXoโ€ฆ

Another thornback ray tagged and we are up to 19 tagged over the last two weeks. Lots of rain these past days but soon back again fishing for more!
And we have finally started tagging thornback rays! As a part of the #NFR_LOST project, weโ€™re studying the effect of oxygen on their behaviour and movement ๐Ÿฆˆ Just have to wait for some months before collecting data #RajaClavata

Regenerative aquaculture and acoustic telemetry make a great pairing in this new study led by @Thomasstamp feat @AdamLikesTheSea. They used V9 transmitter tags on crustaceans to capture ecological benefits of offshore mussel farms. Bravo to the researchers! ๐Ÿฆž #acoustictelemetry #research #regenerative
Replying to @AdamLikesTheSea
This week our new tracking paper is published - led by @ThomasStamp We used @Innovasea (V9 transmitter tags) on crustaceans to test the regenerative potential of an offshore mussel farm in England ๐Ÿฆž

Here we use a combination of approaches (#SDM #acoustictelemetry #SIA) to demonstrate that longline mussel farming can physically augment and improve seabed habitat to support commercially important crustacean populations in otherwise unsuitable habitat. 3/3
