No prime minister or world leader can ever be as great as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
The man who inherited a broken, impoverished nation ravaged by colonial loot and Partition bloodbath, and within years laid the foundation of a modern, secular, democratic India. He built institutions, IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, atomic energy, space program, steel plants, dams that literally became "temples of modern India."
While Hindutva peddlers today peddle myths and division, Nehru gave us scientific temper, secularism, and an inclusive vision that held this diverse country together. Non-Aligned Movement? His masterstroke that let newly independent nations breathe free from Cold War superpowers. Land reforms, universal adult franchise, and a Constitution that remains our moral compass. All under his watch.
Compare that to today's circus of cronyism, hate politics, institutional capture, and economic mismanagement masked by propaganda. Nehru didn't need WhatsApp forwards or godi media to be remembered as a giant. History already did.
Jawaharlal Nehru wasn't perfect, but he was a statesman of towering intellect and integrity. Bharat Ratna wasn't enough. The real tribute is protecting the Idea of India he built from those trying to dismantle it daily.
