You know before you write this stuff, it asks you 'What's happening?' What's happening is that I am promoting my book - sorry it's pretty shameless, but needs must

In episode 63 of #WhatWeLeaveWeCarry, the series that tells the true-life stories of migration to the UK, Hani Arnaout tells his story of how, after years of suffering under the Assad regime in Syria, he and his family found safety in Devon bit.ly/48W3DBa
Looking forward to this event: Don’t Talk About Politics – How to Change 21st Century Minds @howtoacademy . I’ll be in conversation with the brilliant & engaging @SSteinLubrano
More of a respectful remake than a radical retake - why I was slightly disappointed in Steve McQueen’s wartime movie Blitz. Review for @writersmosaicwritersmosaic.org.uk/reviews…
Reflecting on the symbiosis between a conductor and orchestra that can elevate a performance into the realms of the eternal. 97 year old Herbert Blomstedt @philharmonia@southbankcentre took Mahler’s 9th Symphony to the edge of silence in ways that cannot be put into words.
As well as a prize-winning novelist, @moniqueroffey is a also renowned activist and her new novel #Passiontide is, above all, a paean to activism; as much a mischievous and congenial act as it is a transgressive and transformative one @TimAAFinch reviews bit.ly/4dUTJ1o

In All in the Mind @BBCRadio4 this week we asked why music moves some emotionally and leaves others like our guest Chris, cold. He said if he had to give up music or cheese for a year it would always be music. Time for a quick poll. I reckon.
At book signings people still ask me how my vet friend is, after the @bbcradio4 programmes we made about his brain tumour 7 years ago. So we've made a new episode. Adam's frank & funny, as usual. And I never expected to assist in a dog castration...

Kniha 🇬🇧 novináře a spisovatele Tima Finche @TimAAFinch Peace Talks rozhodně stojí za přečtení, a to nejen proto, že jde dle jeho vlastních slov o ‘love letter to diplomats.’
Tímto považuji své dnešní moderátorské angažmá za úspěšně zakončené 😊
Díky @MeltingpotForum za důvěru!
We are starting a new talks series which I’ll be chairing where we hear from psychologists @sussexuni all about how we can use their research in our own lives. Starting with the Science of Well-being. Nice venue too. Do come if you can and please do share theoldmarket.com/shows/think…
Na Meltingpotu vystoupí také oceňovaný spisovatel, Tim Finch (@TimAAFinch), který působil nejen jako novinář v BBC 📺, ale i ve vedení řady lidskoprávních organizací, včetně @ResetUKorg. 🤝🏻
Nahlédněte spolu s ním pod pokličku migrace. ▶️ bit.ly/ChciNaMeltingpot
If you think of Stanford as the starchy headmaster of British music, then you must come to this and be challenged. His Songs of the Fleet is by gorgeous and subversive, even bawdy. For Lo, I raise up is a stunning anthem a rare setting from the book of Habakkuk.
Hi everyone, time to dust off your Bach B minor. Our Come and Sing is this Saturday at St Stephen's, College Rd, Dulwich. Let's see some new faces too as well as choir buddies across London. All levels welcome. We're baking too. Book on dulwichchoral.com
Chris Paling was one of those novelists who never had a 'breakthrough' book - the fate of most novelists. But the quality of his writing was consistently high & he leaves behind a considerable literary legacy. I hope that is some comfort to family & friends at this sad time
Very sad that a dear friend, brilliant producer and writer, Chris Paling has died too soon. But his voice lives on in his novels and his non-fiction. I recommend all of them.
