@TimBrando These captivating Knicks run to the championship with one of the most entertaining teams and the best closers in playoff history in Brunson. Parade can’t come soon enough!

Congratulations to @jalenbrunson1 and his @nyknicks on their @NBA Title, and while I’ve been VERY critical of the League in recent years, this team and this Title run clearly rejuvenated the game in a positive way. Not surprisingly, when ya have a corps group of Champions from a program like @NovaMBB. In Brunson’s rookie year he routinely came back to Wells Fargo to route for @CoachJayWright and his team. Last night’s post game was further illustration of his humility after being totally dominant at crunch time.

Once David’s stint calling the @MiamiHEAT games ended he executed his skills as a writer with a pair of books and his website creation @sportsbdcstjnl which was his contribution to both young writers and PXP talent. He genuinely wanted to help others and he did. His critical work could be biting, but he always meant well with hopes those he criticized would profit from his advice. He was one of the few critics of our craft that had experience actually performing PXP. Acceptance of real criticism is important if ya wanna improve as a broadcaster of any kind, but especially so in calling unscripted live events no matter the sport. Halberstam’s website didn’t dwell on podcasts, or embrace debate programming like so many others of today. My friend @richpodolsky who recently penned books “You are Looking Live” a History of the NFL Today, plus “Madden & Summerall” said of Halby,

Tributes pour in for Sports broadcaster and author David J. Halberstam; I’m interrupting self imposed social ban again due to a late obit to a wonderfully gifted man who passed away. David’s illness ended many a conversation we used to have. RIP Halby. 🙏 awfulannouncing.com/nba/spor…

John was the consummate professional and a really great person. After he retired we’d get together whenever Sunday Night Football was in his hometown of Pittsburgh. A wonderful man who brought joy to all. RIP John

Would like to pay tribute to former ESPN announcer, better known as the voice of the Indians and Pirates - John Sanders. John was the pxp announcer on the first football package I ever produced at espn. The very first college package on Thursday nights.

It was a 9-0 ruling by the entire Supreme Court. Liberals and Conservatives both agreed. Kavanaugh just wrote a concurrent opinion that gave the NCAA fair warning.

Once again proof in the current system the @NCAA is a toothless organization. I’m actually ok with Sorsby’s getting to play this season. Particularly since he recognized his problem and sought help. I also see why others (and include me here)it’s ludicrous to think that every time any player’s eligibility is in question a judge in your town with an injunction can restore eligibility. That’s why despite what the @SEC & @B1Gfootball say now, we need these leaders to repair in some form, the Bill that @SenTedCruz & @SenatorCantwell have authored and pass it into law. Let’s not waste this time before the season ladies & gentlemen. Get to work!
NEWS: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season.

The NBA family mourns the passing of Stacey King, a three-time NBA champion and longtime Chicago Bulls television analyst. Stacey made his mark on the game as a player, coach and commentator. For more than 20 years on Bulls broadcasts, his passion, knowledge and unmistakable energy resonated with generations of fans. We extend our deepest condolences to Stacey’s family and friends and the Bulls organization.

Stacey King a few weeks ago on announcing: “It’s a fun job, it never seems like work for me. Every night I go to work, win, lose or draw, I’m having fun… one thing I’ve always tried was if you couldn’t come to a Bulls game, you’re entertained on TV.” This is a message I think everyone needs for their life.

Just heard this shocking/heartbreaking news. Stacey & I had countless conversations about his love of being from Lawton, Oklahoma & playing for his beloved Sooners. He followed everything and came back as often as he could. This legend will truly be missed. 🙏 for his family

Seeetheart of a guy. 💜🏀🎧🎙️May he RIP.
Stacey was one of a kind because his passion was authentic and his ability to connect with so many was genuine. His knowledge of the game sometimes got overshadowed by his catch phrases. But man, he knew ball. He welcomed me to broadcast side and made me better RIP to an original

He’s an unforgettable larger than life figure that’ll always be beloved by all who came in contact with him. RIP “Hot Sauce in Heaven” 🎙️🎧🏀RIP I know this loss is really hard on you and @AdamAmin prayers to ya both.
Because of Stacey, we as Bulls fans know “it’s a simple game.” Because of Stacey, we always have hot sauce ready. Because of Stacey, we like our meatballs spicy. Because of Stacey - and the joy he brought - this goodbye hits so hard. Drive home safely, Stacey. Beep Beep.

Never fails just finished my walk along the Gulf of America 🇺🇸beach🏖️and see this news. 😢Stacey’s exploits both @OU_MBBall and @chicagobulls brought much joy, and as a broadcaster of their games and his Hot & Saucey podcast were a blast to be on. My colleagues @AdamAmin and occasionally @ConnorOnion I envy for working with him so long. My greatest memories of Stacey were from his days with the late great Billy Tubbs. He was a leader and a player that exuded JOY on the floor! May God Bless & keep him. 💜🙏🙏🙏
