I was in Madison Square Garden to witness the Rangers win the Stanley Cup in 1996. I was at Shea Stadium in 1969 and in 1986 to see the Mets win the World Series. I have been blessed beyond words to see sports magic happen live. What I witnessed on Wednesday night from the back row of the Garden was miraculous….absolute magic that will live in my heart forever. To be able to share that with my two sons and daughter in law was beyond beautiful because I was able to watch them experience something I have known in my soul since my 11th birthday on October 16th 1969. Everything is possible. Dream big. Never give up hope. Believe in the impossible and make it happen. Go Knicks. You are a team for the ages.

Forever grateful to the audience that found Shawshank. It’s the quality that matters and time will be the ultimate arbiter. I hope the same will be true of Code 46, The Secret Life of Words and Catch a Fire.
The Shawshank Redemption flopped in theaters, $16 million worldwide on a $25 million budget, opening weekend just $727,000 in 1994, it disappeared almost immediately. It lost all seven Oscar nominations to Forrest Gump, no awards, no box office, the studio labeled it a failure and the director walked away devastated. Then something quiet started happening, VHS rentals, cable reruns, someone watching it alone on a Tuesday night and calling a friend the next morning. People who watched it told their friends, their friends told more people, it spread slowly, one recommendation at a time, no marketing push just genuine word of mouth. By 2008 it reached number one on IMDb, the audience voted it the greatest film ever made and it has stayed there ever since. It took 14 years to get there, a box office bomb turned into the highest rated film in history, built entirely by viewers long after the studio had already moved on.

It was such a blessing to host all these great artists at The Actors Gang to honor and celebrate a true artistic genius. Ralph’s art and writing define our times. Go see the Ralph Steadman art exhibition at the Torrance Art Museum. torranceartmuseum.com/ instagram.com/reel/DWgwGlaES…

This is my friend Kevin. He lost his house in the Altadena fire and continues to make art in the wake of tragedy. These photos are amazing. instagram.com/p/DTN_uD0j0l8/…

I am devastated by the death of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele. He was an inspired and brilliant director and a kind, good, loving man who lived his life as a tireless and generous advocate for others. I am indebted to Rob for giving me a leg up in this business, casting me in the first film I could be proud of being in, The Sure Thing and later giving me the gift of a lifetime when I was cast in The Shawshank Redemption, a film Rob produced. My heart goes out to his family and the thousands of people in the film business that were lucky enough to work with him, witness his great talent and be invited into his large, loving heart. This is a crushing loss. All my love and prayers to Rob and Michele. Flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Wake up friends. This is the final push to criminalize dissent. Link free speech with your bank account and trust us here at the WEF to determine what speech is appropriate. What could go wrong? Anyone in China or North Korea have the freedom to tell us?

While AI dreams of sentience, its data centers are already killing communities with thirst and blackouts, time to unplug the monster before it devours us all.

Assassinating a man for his political beliefs is an act of evil and anyone justifying or celebrating this man’s death is truly sick and has lost their humanity. What do these heartless, soulless ghouls hope to achieve other than chaos and division and further violence? Or is that the algorythmic point to all of this? Please don’t get sucked into this hell on earth. I pray for peace, reason, kindness and dialogue and for his wife and children who will carry the weight of this loss for their lifetimes.
