"To make global health truly participatory, the world’s health institutions must adopt a radical approach to listening to everyday people"
Today - Register here: bit.ly/4eIejUd@drarishay and I will share our journey in public engagement in Pakistan with researchers in Brazil. Excited for this South-to-South collaboration and mutual learning with @bricnetbr@SBPPC2016@Insper and others
Great to end my day reading messages of hope from leading individuals working on health #equity - A field which can often seem like a long list of issues that haven't been solved
Great to see UK regulators creating guidance to support the design of more inclusive trials! The challenge will be in the uptake, particularly by those who don't already consider diversity
Will contribute to this consultation with @drarishay & encourage others to do the same
The UK's Health Research Authority (HRA) plus Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) have just launched a consultation on plans for Inclusion and Diversity Plans to be part of approvals submissions.
See hra.nhs.uk/about-us/news-upd…
Consultation closes 9/12/2024

Just registered for this! Really excited to learn more, particularly about the patient and public engagement component of this exciting project
Might be of interest to @drarishay and colleagues in the @africacritical network
An absolute pinch me moment to have the main ROSHNI2 paper published in @TheLancet . This marks a shift in the years of conversations around 'hard to reach' communities.
✨Join us to celebrate a decade of #impact of #trialsmethodology research in Ireland via the @hrbtmrn.
🛣️Our journey began in 2014 & it's time to reflect on the past & look forward to exciting future innovations.

Last week I attended @ictmc2024 where @drarishay and I had the privilege of sharing our work with three posters and two oral presentations
Highlights from our work on pragmatic trials, consent redesign, public engagement and representativeness in trials in South Asia below 🧵
Empowering Patients - Revising Informed Consent Processes for Critical Care Trials in Pakistan
Our public group has worked with us to make informed consent for @MegaROXtrial and @remap_cap more culturally sensitive and relevant in the Pakistani context
All these pieces of work are hopefully contributing to a more efficient, ethical and socially responsible conduct of trials in South Asia
We hope to publish much of this work soon. Stay tuned and follow me and @drarishay if you'd like to keep up to date
Attended the first ECHO learning platform for trialists organised by @CANTAPTALENT
A clear informative talk by @lmbuagbaw on pilot & feasibility studies. This interesting @PLOSONE article came up when discussing how such studies may prevent research waste - Worth a read
@ictmc2024's final keynote speaker @kamleshkhunti is guest editor with @ShobaDawson of a new Trials journal article collection called 'Improving equity, diversity, and inclusion in randomised trials'

.@TimoTolppa giving a fab talk by telling us a story about the complex cultural problems in the consent process for an ICU RCT in Pakistan. So important to hear of the work being done in low resource settings & think about which lessons may be overarching
