One of the most disappointing realizations you can have is that people will call themselves queer identities that inherently reject societies cisheterostandards without unpacking any of those standards themselves, thinking having that identity alone does the work for them.

personally I don't see it as much of a win when a trans person is cast in something and there's little to no mention of their transness. I'm always glad to see trans people employed. But during a literal genocide, explicit trans rep is an utmost necessity. Not assimilation.
