Great presentation on treat and transfer optimisation from Marc Ribo at #WSC2024. In an optimised system, the threshold for overall harm from prehospital LVO bypass seems to be at about 60 minutes transfer time.

Great to hear that TNK shortages in Australia have now resolved. Especially helpful in Telestroke settings and helping mobile stroke unit roll-outs! tga.gov.au/safety/shortages/…

Exciting new potential schizophrenia treatment Kar-XT for positive and negative symptoms. Benefits of increasing cholinergic neurotransmission has interesting parallels in LBD/other dementia psychosis, and fits well with 'total sensory deprivation' as psychosis cause in the well

The TRAIN RCT - interesting study with implications for ICH management - patients with liberal transfusion strategy (<9gm/dL vs <7) had better neurological outcome consistently across TBI, ICH and SAH subgroups. tinyurl.com/yc4frvbx

Very interesting work thank you. The human cerebellum is relatively huge - it MUST be doing many specifically human things. An aside - maybe frontotemporal brain sagging is a cerebellar disorder due to SCP squishing?
Replying to @indrit_begue
These results provide stable longitudinal evidence on the cerebellum's "dysmetric" regulatory effect on reward circuitry in schizophrenia and open the perspective for targeted cerebellar non-invasive brain stimulation to alleviate negative symptoms. The end!
