They keep releasing DPS characters since its by far the weakest role in the game, its easy to balance.
I'd rather have another 50 Blade's than another Gambit or Whitefox.

I still donโt understand, why didnโt they use their nerfing philosophy for every other broken hero in the game by nerfing them by smalls amounts but black cat had to get 13 nerfs in patch whilst only being meta for 1 month. You canโt say there isnโt favouritism

I really thought Black Cat was gonna be their dive cash cow that they never nerf, kind of like how Luna and Invis are for support, but man, the new Black Cat is GENUINELY unplayable.
It's possible to adapt but what's the point? All the nerfs stacked up make her so unfun to play. It's one thing to nerf a hero, it's another to completely eradicate them.

when a poke character (not widow) is strong in ANY WAY, they get nerfed with compensation.
when a DIVE is strong? JUST nerfs. or, like with iron fist, they just ruin the thing everyone played him for. no mobility, no diving, no fun!

Almost every DPS character is viable for a large swath of the playerbase. If you have the skill you can play the most F tier characters in low ranks, not to mention there are a large amount of players who either don't play comp at all, or play comp up until gold and quit. You can play any character in those ranks.
Also, it's not the people are impatient, it's that they're recognizing a growing disparity in hero release roles. Guang guang addressed it and said that he was working on it, so my expectation is that we'll see a tapering off of DPS characters some time next year
