Toby 101: How do Validators secure Your Assets? (and helps you sleep at night) π¦¦
β
What are validators?
Validators are the backbone of the
#Solana network.
β
They monitor accounts, validate transactions, participate in governance, ensuring security & decentralization.
β
Think of them as the CPU chip that keep Solana phones running!
___________________
What do they do?
Solana clusters are groups of validators working together to process transactions & maintain the blockchain.
They ensure different parts of the phone are working safely & efficiently.
There are over 1,600 Solana validators.
They use a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism to remove the need for a central authority.
β
Individuals can choose to stake their tokens to validators with higher scores, incentivizing validators to do good.

What are clusters?
Solana clusters are made up of a group of validators.
β
Cluster have different purposes:
β
β’ Devnet: A sandbox for testing and experimentation.
β’ Testnet: For User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new features.
β’ Mainnet: The live Solana network for real economic activities.

Keeping your assets safe.
Validators are integral to Solana's architecture, ensuring its security, efficiency, & scalability.
β
Toby will be working closely with key validators to ensure Solana remains robust, secure, and able to handle high transaction volumes efficiently.
