Rangers held lead all game. Rocker didn't qualify for the win not going 5.0 innings. Official Scorer awared win to Latz as the most effective reliever instead of a win to Ahlstrom or Winn. Latz was in line for a Save but can't have both.

Regardless of the last 3 teams to qualify for Omaha, the 24 spots in the 2024, 2025 and 2026 Men's College World Series fields will have consisted of 23 different schools.
Only North Carolina (2024 & 2026) has been there twice in the past three seasons.

Notably, an athlete's eligibility clock will begin upon initial full-time enrollment in college or at the beginning of the academic year following their 19th birthday, whichever occurs first.

The #1 overall NCAA Baseball seed is UCLA. They just lost to Saint Mary which should be the #64 seed if baseball brackets were the same as basketball. Saint Mary is still unlikely to win the Regional but a crazy day with Auburn, Southern Miss, Oregon State all losing as #1 seeds.

Yordan Alvarez leads off 8th in a 2-2 game. He hit 2HR yesterday and 1 the day before that, he hit a HR early in this game. Clearly pitching around him to see if he will chase and gets to 3-0 count. In MLB you can tell the batter to go to 1B, no need to pitch to him. Then he hit a 79.6 mph sweeper for a HR (it was in the zone). There was no need to throw a strike. Manager or pitcher got greedy and it will likely cost the Rangers the game.

Rangers up 9-6 in 8th and bring in Latz to close with 2 outs in top of 8th. Jason Alexander goes 6.0 INN for Astros after giving up 8R in 1st. How many pitchers have given up 8R or more in 1st and gone more than 5.0 innings? My guess is that Alexander is the only pitcher to ever to it. Reminder that Rangers got no hit yesterday. @CodifyBaseball @theaceofspaeder
