Today at CALM we launched our Missed Birthdays installation.
In the last decade, 6,929 young people in the UK have died by suicide. Each balloon represents a young person who took their own life, & a birthday they didn’t get to celebrate.
But together we can end youth suicide

I’m really excited to be launching a new phase of my career where I'll be taking on shorter-term contract work in the charity sector.

Firstly Mark Fletcher, who isn't on Twitter so won't see this, but was an unreal youth mental health campaigner. We'll miss him loads.

Farewell also to the mighty @RobertBuckland who is one of the loveliest people I've worked with - intelligent, brave and consensual, he was such a committed champion for autistic people and deserves a lot of credit for the tireless work he did from the back benches.

A date has finally been set. Young people now have a chance to get their voice heard.
ALT A general election has been called. And the stakes couldn’t be higher. Many young people will be voting for the first time. They have grown up in a cost-of-living crisis, global instability and an escalating climate emergency. Referrals to mental health services are at record levels, with more young people reaching crisis point than ever before. Mental health must be a priority this election. Politicians need to rebuild trust with young people and listen to what they are going through. We need revolutionary ideas and a major rethink of all systems that impact young people’s mental health.
