There's a lot of confusion over who's indie and who's not. It's simple: to be called indie, your game's entire development team should be able to set up their desks and work inside the space of a standard two-car garage. Also the cars have to be in the garage too.

The way the NEAR 50% number is reached is by including mobile games like Candy Crush. Look into the methodology of these studies; they've been lying about this for at least a decade. "Gaming", in the way almost anyone would define it, is largely a male hobby.
