Exactly this. There's so much to discuss, but fundamentally they've needlessly destroyed their own reputation. This will follow them around for years; it's part of their story now. If Cov did this, I'd be apoplectic.
The most incredible thing about Southampton and spygate is that, still, so much energy has gone into "err this is unfair" rather than apologising to fans, arranging refunds and going cap in hand to to beg them to stick with the club. They have torched their entire reputation.

Love how the photos from the League 1 title will always look like Robins has stepped away from preparing a tray of sarnies to pose with the trophy

Been quietly waiting for a classic retro t-shirt channeling this sort of thing since we secured the title. How about it @Coventry_City? #pusb

ā€œOwner Doug King’s choice is very simple - either spend Ā£100m like Sunderland or nothing like Burnley. The outcome would likely be the same as it is for those two teams this season,ā€ Keys said. Burnley summer 2025/26 summer transfer spend (approx): Ā£80m

As a yo-yo club, Burnley’s squad was (on paper) better prepared for the Premier League than Sunderland, who had only recently come up from League One. In hindsight Burnley probably overestimated how good their squad was, but always worth interrogating these simplistic narratives

FWIW I do think we need to spend significantly, but I’m not having that Burnley spent nothing, because it’s clearly not true.

Obviously love this, but also keep thinking if you told me in 2001 it would be a TWENTY-FIVE-YEAR wait to return to the PL, I would’ve been beyond devastated. Worst case scenario for me back then would’ve been 2, maybe 3 years in the 2nd tier? It’s truly a mad story. #pusb

Seeing a lot of chat about who stays/goes next season and I can’t believe how many fans are willing to cut Ben Wilson loose. You have a ready-made 3rd-choice keeper who knows and loves the club and is by all accounts great in the dressing room. Of course he stays. #pusb

We’re really gonna waste time and energy recruiting an equivalent 30 keeper who’ll be happy to benchwarm but has no connection to Cov or the current squad?! You have to carry some of that momentum and mentality with you.

In all the excitement you almost forget that we’ve only owned the CBS for 8 months. Last summer Doug King was still talking about building a new stadium. The turnaround in our fortunes is a joke. #pusb

Love how this narrative that we were on the verge of relegation when Lampard took over is exaggerated more each time it’s repeated. We were 9 points off the play offs šŸ˜‚ #pusb
Frank Lampard took over Coventry on the verge of being relegated to league one. Transformd them, won the Skybet championship, brought them to premier league after 20 years. Better than what Michael Cashew is currently doing with old glory FC.

Obviously the guy has done a phenomenal job, that barely needs saying because it’s so self evident. But there’s not a chance in hell we were getting relegated that season.

For the millionth time this week I can’t fully process that this is happening. I literally don’t care what happens in the Premier League, the 9 years since Mark Robins came back have been peak football and we got our fairytale ending. 🩵 #pusb

I know there are countless players who’ve have contributed, but my thoughts keep turning to this man. Outright refused to tolerate the mediocrity that had become part of our DNA. There’s is no way we come up from League Two that season without him. Proper legend. #pusb

A recent chat inspired me to make a little graph of Coventry City average attendance stats over the years (and stadiums). Strap on your thick glasses and have a nose bleed to this fellow stat nerds. #pusb

I’m sure the reality of being a Premier League team again keeps hitting us all in waves. One thing I just realised is we’re now a credible contender for domestic cups. Like, we’re (in theory) among the best sides competing and we could absolutely go for it. #pusb
