He's be doing the Oilers a favor. Who would want him at that cap hit?

Oilers assistant captain Darnell Nurse has requested a trade out of Edmonton, and has submitted a list of preferred teams to the team. The 31-year-old defenceman has spent the entirety of his 12-year NHL career with the Oilers, and is seeking a fresh start elsewhere. (H/T @TSNRyanRishaug)

Bkackhawks just got the worst case scenario of what could have happened. Kyle better have a plan. I'd be surprised if he didn't. Time to start looking into some trades.

🚨Tonight we’ll finally know what pick The Blackhawks will getting! I can’t wait for the projection to be over. I just want to know, or have a good idea who we’ll be selecting.

Edmonton knew when they didn't get an opportunity to run through the Kings in the first round there was a problem. This team has been living off McDavid doing everything but that's never been enough in the playoffs. As he gets older and injuries start to mount up, it becomes impossible.

We let go of Toews and Kane pretty recently. Pens haven't been real contenders for a long time. About to lose to the Flyers. Kings have been floating around being a playoff team in the weakest division. They always have to face Edmonton in the first round and got even worse luck this year playing the Avs. It hurts being a rebuilding team. I think it's worse being a team that makes the playoffs then always gets bounced in the first round.
Ten years ago, the Kings, Blackhawks, and Penguins were the class of the NHL. At the end of that period, the Kings held on to Doughty/Kopitar, the Pens hung on to Crosby Malkin, and the Hawks let go of Kane and Toews. The Pens and Kings are about to be swept in their final runs of mediocrity, while Chicago is gearing up for a decade of playoffs. Tear down when you tear down. Don’t half ass rebuilds.

Nick Lardis with a goal tonight put him on pace for a 20 goal pace for a full season. Perfect pass from Bedard. I think he puts up 30 next year.

This Hawks power play last night was relentless, and Bedard was all over the place. Great pressure!
What a sequence from the top power-play unit. Chance after chance:

Connor Bedard has been dynamic, hustling back on defense, and a threat every time he's on the ice. He's taken a noticeable step this year and getting better. Korchinski had his best game against the Kraken and is getting more and more ice time as the games go on. He's been much better defensively and he's made some good passes as well.

This is probably the best Nedeljkovic has played in 4 years.

Good on Korchinski to turn a pass into the skates in not a play and a goal.

From what I've seen from Frondell these first few games is this kid is ready.

Burakovsky is awful! Why is he on a pp unit!?

Kid has an assist in the first period. No pressure just play kid!

I like Ryan Greene but he's blown almost as many chances from Bedard as Burakovsky has.
Ryan Greene feels he's proven he's a worthy top-six player in the NHL. Nick Lardis is trying to do the same. But Anton Frondell is coming for one of their jobs. New story: nytimes.com/athletic/7139414…

Beautiful slapper! Crevier has been a good defensive defenseman for the Blackhawks and I hope he continues to fire these bombs!

Pulled it off at top speed, impressive!

If you want to know what's going wrong with Blackhawks players development, it's in this article. These guys want to change how these players play to fit to their systems instead of fitting their systems around these players strengths. Lardis is a goal scorer, top line guy in Rockford. Third liner in NHL while Burakovsky plays with Bedard. bleachernation.com/blackhawk…

Let's see how this kid does. I think he might play on the third or 4th line for now.
