What if the solution to water shortages is already in the air?💧 UT Austin researchers with the @CockrellSchool developed a solar-powered device that pulled record amounts of drinking water from the atmosphere in a range of climates, from the dry New Mexico desert to humid Austin. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 JD Vance: "I know this has been a hard time for a lot of Americans, but we have achieved something great for them." x.com/clashreport/status/206…

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Vance about the deal with Iran: “What the president has done is created the real space to transform that region, cooperation between the Gulf Arab allies and the Israelis, and now hopefully a new era with the Iranians!" He also talked about driving down energy prices long-term and building prosperity in the Middle East. Could've been done without a war, but ok, at least there's an agreement now. Invest in yourself. That is your number one investment (hard to see in your 20s 30s and for some even in their 40s) Always believe in yourself and never give up!

What was the value of new America to Spain & Portugal What was the value on North America to England and France? What’s the PV value of the Louisiana territory to the US? What was the value unlock of the skies to airlines, carriers, others? What’s the value of of the oceans to all the countries of the world? What is the value of the earth to humanity? What is the value of space to humanity? That is the question. This is the level of unthought of and unthinkable TAM that @SpaceX @elonmusk and others will represent. We’re on the verge of a completely new value unlock for humanity. It’s not about the cohorts we know and love. The Walmart’s, Macys, Coca-Cola’s. Tomorrow will be space, robotics, ai, and power harnessing. The questions we should be asking ourselves should be, what is the value of unlocking all of low earth orbit? The solar system? A percent of the suns power? A percent of the milk ways power? The ability to harness enough power to collapse space? A new era for humanity. You’re at the beginning of it today. Enjoy it!

Being a founder and CEO can be tough; many times the skills that got you where you are, can hurt you once you’re running a large organization. Some founders generate lots of ideas and try to get their organization to execute them and a rate they just can’t handle or comprehend… which is one of the primary factors for execution bottlenecks - the one’s who have learned from others, sequence their ideas more slowly and ensure better execution. I was, and still am very lucky to have unbelievable talent running operations.

Elon just created 4,400 millionaires in a single day. 400 of them are now worth over $100 million. These aren't VCs. They're SpaceX employees, and the list includes welders, technicians, and cafeteria staff, because for two decades the company paid every level of the workforce in stock instead of higher salaries. Juan Hernandez immigrated from Mexico and took a $28 an hour contractor welding job in 2015. He says he didn't even know what SpaceX was. The company gave him a $10,000 equity grant and let him buy more shares through payroll deductions. That stake is now worth $880,000. Trevor Hise's parents wanted him to take a stable job at General Electric. He picked SpaceX instead, stayed 12 years, and accumulated over 100,000 shares. At the $135 listing price that's $13.5 million. He's 37 and semiretired. His words: "The magnitude of this has been ridiculous." The most telling detail came before the listing. Over 100 employees quietly banded together and negotiated a group wealth management deal covering up to $5 billion, because none of them had ever needed a wealth manager before. Software IPOs have minted millionaires for 30 years. This is the first one where the money went to the factory floor.

Nice summary of a medium that is quietly tacking over attention and eyeballs.
Short dramas have quietly scaled into a mainstream format, and most of the US still hasn't noticed. Serialized, vertical, and made for the phone. Episodes run one to two minutes, seasons run 100 to 150. In China it's already obvious. More viewing time now goes to short dramas than to long-form streaming. And AI is moving in fast: on Douyin's top 5,000 titles, close to one in five are now AI-generated, up from none four months ago. Coatue sector head @lordbartonjr on why China could be the early signal for what reaches the US next.

To all the amazing graduates out there… at a minimum do these two things and you’ll win and be ahead of just about everyone else: Show up with 100% of yourself to every job you commit to, no matter how big or small it may be. And, try to do two things everyday that make you uncomfortable. Over the next 5 years it will pay dividends.

Great move Pat & Kathy. Will ensure that @pterrys is built to last.
From day one, we believed taking care of people and building a great business go hand in hand. Today, we're making that belief official: P. Terry's is becoming employee-owned and launching profit sharing for eligible employees. Here's to the next generation of P. Terry's. ❤️
