EAM Driver Rob Wilson exemplifies SERVICE. Approached by a customer whose package had been address corrected in error, he took control of the situation. He made a call to determine the GPS location of the item. He then recovered AND delivered the package correctly. Thank you ROB!

Minneapolis FTSP’s were greeted today with a very generous and SAFELY prepared gift. John Rains and unnamed retirees took the time to prepare and distribute doughnuts for each of our drivers this morning. All followed guidances. Thank you John, for the incredibly thoughtful gift!

Downtown Center: Health Habits are just the same as Delivery Methods. Once learned, and properly applied, they will keep you SAFE. We know what the hazards are. We know how to eliminate them. We need to be vigilant. Your Health / Wellness are our top priorities. Make them yours!

Snowbanks narrow our travel path on both sides of the road surface this time of the year. They are also frozen at an angle that prevents cars from parking close to the edge. It is imperative to block the entire traffic lane often. Flashers on, mirror in, and expedite the delivery

Downtown Center space management is more than just parking smart. You also have to think of others and the importance of keeping traffic moving. As much as blocking the whole lane keeps us SAFE, we need to maintain relationships with those we serve. It’s keeping Space and Peace!

Many of Downtown Center’s FTSP’s must work in less than 4 Feet of SPACE daily. Folding in their mirrors to pass through doorways. Backing in crowded, poorly lit docks. Using rental vehicles without rear vision cameras. But our expectations are the same. It’s always SAFETY FIRST.

Does your approach change with the conditions? Are you making adjustments as needed? Look at what FTSP Vince Almeda is doing. Not only is he using the handrail properly, but he is verifying that each step is SAFE. What is your level of commitment? SAFE BEHAVIORS must be fluid.

The final push. Downtown Center getting instructions for a distraction filled day. Be mindful of out of town guests and last minute shoppers. SAFETY, service and a commitment to one another. No one will return until everyone is set up to finish. Those most important stops await!

Special Operating Day. Special Instructions. Same Expectations. Downtown Center covering the unique operational items for today’s dispatch. SAFETY must include clearly explaining changes to avoid confusion. Different Route? Different Vehicle? Doesn’t matter. We have to work SAFE!

Downtown Center Safety message today was “Take a Break.” All Delivery Personnel were asked to put a bar in a shirt pocket. At some point in time, during the work day, they will discover that bar. They were told to stop, eat the bar, and use that time to reset and FOCUS ON SAFETY.

Downtown center preparing for inclement weather. Detailed discussion at PCM concerning 3 points of contact with compromised surfaces, proper use of a handcart in the snow, and proper use of traction devices when situations warrant their use. Proper preparation prevents problems.

Shuffle through the snow. Newly fallen snow hides elevation changes in a dangerous way. By not raising your feet, you can prevent a painful slip or fall by detecting the hazards beneath the surface. If the only path is snow covered, shuffle through at a controlled, SAFE, pace!

A commitment to SAFETY begins on Day 1. First day FTSP Candidate Vince Almeda is working on solid ice all day long today. He is calling out “3 Points” each time he enters and exits the cab today. He will have a pain free career if he makes the methods an every moment commitment.

Downtown Center Whiteboard CRASH review with our Most At Risk group today. Accounting for passenger side mirrors goes beyond simple Space Management. How far out is the bracket? Is your load evenly balanced? Is the road grade level? Are signs, posts, and curbs ALL accounted for?

Downtown Center verbalizing “Mirror Clear” and “Camera Clear” to reinforce the space required to avoid HSO crashes. FTSP in our most at risk group now use this MVP activity. They confirm aloud to the ORS they are aware of the hazards on the passenger side of the package car.

Downtown Center using Saturday to work with our highest risk group and most common crash type. HSO avoidance starts with awareness. The drill? Our FTSP recite “mirror clear” aloud before starting to pull in. They next recite aloud “camera clear” if a stationary object exists.
