Topograph is a new place-based literary journal that publishes fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and reviews of place. Issues will be published online (for now).
An announcement:
We’ve decided to take an indefinite break from operating and publishing Topograph. This was a difficult decision, and the first thing we want to say is thank you.
🧵
With your donations, we have paid contributors to our first issue an additional honorarium and recouped some of the expenses associated with launching Topograph. Our website also has moved to a new URL, where it will live for the foreseeable future.

We’re calling this decision an “indefinite break,” because it is a decision we’ve made at this particular crossroads, and we want to leave the window open to return to publishing in the future.
Once again, thank you for your support! Happy writing, happy reading.
Happening tomorrow! The launch party for the first issue of Topograph. Join us for readings from the issue, drinks and more. Still time to RSVP:

In our inaugural editors' note, we hype our excellent contributors and justify our existence.
In short: The natural and built worlds are trending toward sameness, so we're bumping setting up the chain of importance in fiction and life.

HELLO!
Finally, I'm happy to share with you another Ìbàdàn-related poem titled Highway. It's a simple but fine poem. It's up on the first issue of @TopographJo
Do engage, please. Tell me what you think.

Boyo, we are glad we assumed designing this issue on our website would take twice as long as you might think. It's looking handsome. Two days till launch!
Last week, we went sledding in DC atop 4 inches of snow. Today, it's nearly 80 degrees. @markv747 talks about "place lag," the feeling after a long flight of not believing you traveled so far so fast. What's the feeling of not believing changes in a place when you've stayed put?
