#HotPossums paper no. 1 now published @J_Exp_Biol: jeb.biologists.org/content/2…. So they don't get too hot, already hot possums get a bit hotter in hot weather... paradoxical perhaps, but trust me, it works.

The newly reintroduced #marsupials are already making themselves at home. The freshly released kowaris (beautiful fluffy-tailed predators) are expanding lizard and mice burrows, as well as digging their own, at @AridRecovery. #fieldwork #MammalWatching #WildOz #rewilding

The day's long-eared #owl pellet haul. Seems like #voles are the favourite. Must admit we lost steam long before they were all processed and stopped when we hit maggots.

My daughter and I did some fun holiday investigative biology in Germany. We found an #owl nest, collected and sifted through some pellets (containing a #vole), decided it was a long-eared owl and confirmed by looking for adults at dusk. Impressive birds. Excuse the binos photos.
