VEX vs RYN đ´ââ ď¸đ´ââ ď¸
For twelve brutal years, Captain Silas Vex and Captain Ryn âBloodfinâ Korr had been carving scars across each otherâs empires.
Vex, the skull-faced machine who once led the largest raiding fleet in the outer sectors, had lost more ships, more crews, and more pride to Bloodfin than to any navy.
Korr, the razor-toothed deep-sea hybrid who ruled the abyssal trenches, had sworn on his motherâs bones that he would one day mount Vexâs glowing blue optics on his trophy wall.
Tonight, the storm had finally forced their hands.
In the World of Neon Requiem: The Last Flag
Rain hammered the deck of the Black Horizon like falling shrapnel.
Lightning split the sky, briefly illuminating the two captains standing thirty paces apart while their crews held position behind them, weapons ready but silent.
Vexâs massive multi-barrel cannon rested against his shoulder, rain sizzling on the hot metal. His blue optics burned steady through the downpour. Across from him, Bloodfin Korr stood tall in his spiked captainâs hat and ornate black coat, twin cutlasses already drawn, red eyes glowing with years of pure hatred.
âYou took my brotherâs ship,â Korr growled, voice like grinding coral. âYou fed his crew to the trench-feeders.â
Vexâs mechanical jaw clicked once.
âYou took my daughterâs eye,â he answered, voice cold and metallic. âAnd you laughed while you did it.â
Lightning flashed again.
Neither man moved.
Behind them, the two fleets waited in the storm battered ships flying ragged flags, cannons loaded, crews holding their breath.
One word from either captain and the sea would turn to fire and blood.
But this fight wasnât for the fleets anymore.
This was for the years of ambushes, betrayals, stolen bounties, and dead crews.
Vex slowly lowered his cannon until the barrel pointed at the deck.
âNo crews. Just us.â
Bloodfin Korr grinned, showing rows of jagged teeth, and tossed one of his cutlasses aside.
âFinally,â he hissed. âSomething we agree on.â
The storm howled around them as the two old enemies began to circle each other on the rain-slick deck, the final fight they had both been waiting years to finish.
In Neon Requiem, some grudges are settled with fleets.
The worst ones are settled with knives, claws, and the last two men who still remember every drop of blood the other ever spilled.
