Illness is dropping nationally. This is exactly what you'd expect with widespread social distancing. It's not only helpful for COVID-19, it also reduces transmission of other contagious illnesses (flu etc). #StayHome#COVID19 @kinsa

Great job 2nd graders of WHES. @whesbluejays
After chatting with the meteorologist and learning so much, they decided to report on some severe weather themselves! @PortsVASchools@TouchCastEdu (some of it got cut off in Twitter land, but itβs still awesome!
A1: Toolbox that I can't live without: @OneNoteEDU been a staple since 2013. Now hooked on the whole suite of @MicrosoftEDU products. Also, have had so many successes w/Ss for so many years with @AdobeSpark (still call it Voice), @screencasto , @TouchCastEdu & @weebly
Slow chat A2: also taking pics of inviting spaces in the media center to make Ss feel welcome. #galibchat@TouchCastEdu is used daily to provide news and information. Ss come to media center to record segments. Principal and Media Specialist work together to create announcement
A4: The most engaging activity I ever organized in my career 4 my students was starting the filming of our morning announcements. Students are anchors, present the weather, etc. They are creators of the content not the consumers. @TouchCastEdu@padcaster#99mathchat@99mathgame
Kudos! I wonder how @Flipgrid could be used so students in their classroom are interacting and listening attentively to the morning announcers? Could each class send in a mini video of a question that is answered before the close of the announcements?
I have students as young 1st grade who work on production. They work hard and will do retakes until they get it "right" and are proud of their work. Having a real audience makes a difference too. (Just like you are doing with 99mathGame day-having an audience cheer them on!)
