Beat the heat this week! ☀️🌡️ A heat advisory is in effect for many areas away from the immediate coast through Friday. Avoid heat-related illness by drinking plenty of water and limiting outdoor time & strenuous activity. Remember, never leave children or pets in the car!
Heat Safety Tips graphic. Stay indoors in AC if possible. If you do not have AC check if there is a cooling center nearby. Check on people who are more vulnerable to the heat, including children and the elderly. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding alcohol. If you must go outdoors, go early or late in the day and wear light-colored clothing.

[Heat & Humidity Through Friday] Heat and humidity persist through Friday with the peak of it this afternoon when heat indices approach 100 degrees. Main threat of t-storms will be west of our region later today & tonight, but a few may impact western MA/western CT this evening.

This past fall, a fire that occurred in Western Massachusetts was caught on a surveillance camera. Using that footage, we’ve created a timelapse video to demonstrate how fast fires can grow out of control. The timelapse shows how important early detection can be.
