~30% residents are international medical graduates & ~10k of 43k residency spots are filled by docs with H1-B visas.
Previously the h-1B fee was <$5,000.
No hospital will pay a $100k fee for a $55k resident salary.

New Mexico has issued a public health order that removes federal restrictions to COVID-19 vaccine access so that pharmacies in New Mexico can vaccinate people of all ages and risk profiles. Every state needs to do this!

It is appalling how little coverage the shootings at the CDC received. A government agency was attacked with over 180 rounds of gunfire and David Rose, a responding police officer, was killed in the line of duty.

San Quentin prison holds their first ever father-daughter prom, for some inmates it was the first time they’ve ever spent face to face time with their daughters.
Very cool.
One father, Steven Embrey, got to hug his 28-year-old daughter one last time before she was tragically k*lled in a car crash shortly after the event.
“He got the only dance he’s ever done with her,” said the event organizer.
“I’m so happy I participated in the prom and I got to see her. She was so beautiful that day. I have so many beautiful memories,” Embrey said.
The event was the finale of a two-month long family workshop led by a group advocating for prison reform.

At approximately 5a CT our beloved friends, the Hammond family were delivering their three children and their friend to a summer camp.
As their car crossed a bridge in Marble Falls Texas, the bridge collapsed due to rapid flood waters.
The car plummeted into the rushing current. Their 17 year old daughter, Malaya, managed to open a door to allow everyone to escape.
Everyone but Malaya made it to land. As I write this she is still missing.
My family and I are with the Hammond family now. They are the kindest people we’ve ever known— a family rooted deeply in love and God. A family of pure heart and soul.
Together we are holding strong knowing that Malaya will be rescued.
This is the first time I’ve made a public request of this nature:
Please take a moment to pray for Malaya— envision the highest and best possible outcome. Miracles are real.
