The phrase βslow is fastβ has been repeated so often that many people accept it without questioning it.
But the truth is more nuanced.
Slow is fast when slowing down helps you think clearly, learn properly, build systems, and avoid mistakes that would cost you far more time later.
A trader who spends months developing discipline may outperform the trader chasing quick profits every day.
An entrepreneur who spends time understanding customers may avoid years of building the wrong product.
A student who masters fundamentals may progress faster than one who memorises shortcuts.
In these cases, slow is fast because the delay creates leverage.
But slow is not always fast.
Sometimes people are not being strategic. They are simply procrastinating.
They keep researching instead of launching.
They keep planning instead of starting.
They keep preparing instead of executing.
Months pass. Nothing changes.
The opportunity disappears while they convince themselves they are βtaking their time.β
The real principle is not βslow is fast.β
The real principle is:
