Francona pregame Friday:
* MRI back on Elly De La Cruz "I'd say very good news. He's about 90% healed, which is fantastic. I think that kind of goes to show like he almost wills himself, I think. So he'll up the activity, continue to do that intensity and the amount of it, and then we'll let him go (hard) over the weekend, and then we'll kind of put our heads together again on Sunday, and see where we think where he's at, and certainly he has an opinion. We just need to try to temper that sometimes, because he wants to play so bad, and it's appreciated, but we don't want to hurt him either."
* Rehab for EDLC is TBD. Possibly not needed.
* On the job Matt Tracy and Oscar Marin have done in the place of Derek Johnson as pitching coach: "They've done a really good job, really good. The amount of cooperation I'd say with the whole staff, we've had, you know, like (Collin Cowgill) was out for a while, Nap (Mike Napoli) took over. It's a very close, good working staff, and Trace and Oscar have done, and I would put Arnie (Kyle Arnsberg) in that pitching group too, because he certainly does a ton of stuff, making sure organized and all that stuff. So, it's been, it's been good."
* Closely monitoring usage of Tejay Antone "out of respect to what he's been through" but notes that his success is related directly to throwing strikes and spinning his breaking pitches effectively.
