When Mayor-elect Mamdani takes office, he will control over 6,300 miles of streets throughout the five boroughs. Reducing car dependence is one of the best ways to reduce costs for New Yorkers. Owning a car costs nearly $9,000 annually, while taking transit costs just $1,500.

I pledged to complete the long-delayed safety redesign of McGuinness Boulevard if elected. Last week, we got to work. A safer McGuinness Boulevard will be finished this fall.
NEW: Mayor Mamdani will complete the full safety redesign of deadly McGuinness Boulevard in Greenpoint — a project that was created under Mayor Bill de Blasio, but watered down by Mayor Adams in a corruption scandal. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/01/…

🚨 WARNING: EXTREME TRAFFIC AHEAD There are eight Gridlock Alert Days coming up, starting this Saturday. To manage these spikes in traffic, New York should increase congestion relief by 25%. But @GovKathyHochul has instructed the MTA not to use this power.

With the Knicks in the finals and the World Cup descending on New York, this is a busy, exciting time for our city. If New York manages it well, this summer could be really fun! But if we do nothing, it could be a total mess.

Gridlock is a policy choice. It's not inevitable. New Yorkers should be able to move around Midtown even on the busiest days. Tell Governor Hochul to fend off the many traffic jams that are on the way: governor.ny.gov/content/gove…

This dedicated funding for greenways is a good start. With the necessary process reforms, the money will go further and faster.

In a city where every improvement is met with bureaucracy and exorbitant price tags, it's refreshing to see @NYC_DOT do easy things to make life in New York a little better... Like turning an extra lane of parking in Greenwich Village into a new seating area 🌊

"Crashland" no more! Nearly 2,000 people have signed our petition to close the gap on Ashland Place. Thanks to the Mamdani administration, it's finally happening:

We agree! The World Cup is a fantastic opportunity to put bus riders first on our streets. Let's speed up our buses with car-free busways on all major crosstown corridors, from first touch until forever.
Zohran Mamdani’s administration is putting heavy restrictions on traffic in midtown on World Cup game days. Is this a hint of the city to come? curbed.com/article/world-cup…

As New Yorkers’ demand for package delivery increases, so does the need to more efficiently manage our limited public street space. Microhubs are a smart way to prevent large, dangerous, and polluting trucks from making unnecessary trips on the streets of our city.
The future of deliveries might not involve a truck at all. Our microhub pilot has helped eliminate over 3,000 truck trips by shifting last-mile deliveries to cargo bikes and handcarts. We’re expanding the program with new locations and inviting interested business to apply.

When we replace short truck trips with handcart or cargo-bike trips, both our streets and our air are clearer. We look forward to seeing the new Office of Curb Management bring order and efficiency to our streetscape!

This redesign will bring boarding islands for bus riders, increased pedestrian safety with shorter crossing distances, and a protected bike lane connecting Riverside Park to Central Park!
CB7 voted 26–19 last night to support DOT's two-way protected bike lane on W. 72nd St — the Upper West Side's first crosstown bike connection from Central Park to the Hudson. Packed house, plus ~150 on Zoom. Watch the full meeting 👇 youtube.com/watch?v=idD7JIyP…
