I guess the cats out of the bag. I recently was discharged from the hospital after having pelvic surgery with haemorrhoids. This is an EMERGENCY and this thread will be a quick summary of the GFM link. Ways to donate DIRECTLY to me will be below. (1/9) gofund.me/04a3612c
Another thing that has happened is recently Thai císhet yuri (girls love) fans are mad that trans actress Yoshi will star in an upcoming GL saying the typical TERF rhetoric that is captioned in the first photo. (4/7)
ALT These comments are transphobic. They refuse to call a relationship between trans women Yuri. They mock the very idea. And they question whether a trans woman is a heroine or a hero instead of just accepting her as a woman.
They have also criticised the People's Party men. It has a queer politician but its leadership has been leaving them behind. They make queer members face attacks alone. Its men in power do not care. The party is leaning right as most of its male supporters are transphobic. (6/7)
All of this doesn’t go into the mental and physical harassment (like strip searches from cops and death) Thai trans people endure while the west continues to call the country progressive for LGBT rights when it is the opposite. This is why it’s important to support ThaiTGA! (7/7)
Hey y’all! For Pride Month please donate to this Thai trans organisation! A lot has happened this year for Thai trans people including things like Thai trans people being attacked for wanting the right to change their gender marker because surprise surprise they can’t. (1/7)
ALT Artwork by Similan Upatumpakanon. A large cat representing what I interpret as the government points towards a much smaller cat wearing a rainbow handkerchief, representing a trans person, while addressing a medium-sized cat representing císgender people. The large cat says, “That cat wants to take your fish,” referring to a pile of fish symbolising money or resources. The image depicts a powerful figure directing attention and suspicion towards a marginalised group, portraying them as a threat to other people’s interests. https://www.facebook.com/share/1GLDaFNrnX/?mibextid=wwXIfr
If you are able this Pride Month, please consider supporting ThaiTGA's work advocating for legal gender recognition, healthcare access, and protection from discrimination. Funding is VERY limited. No amount is too small and every donation helps. (3/3)

The discourse began when Senator Veerapun Suvannamai (วีระพันธ์ สุวรรณนามัย), who is also a doctor, asked, “Are we really wealthy enough to provide free HRT to trans people?” More info here: bangkokpost.com/thailand/gen… (3/7)
Another thing happening now is HRT will be covered under Thailand’s universal healthcare system and Thai cís people have shifted their anger from gender markers to that hence the above captioned illustration. (2/7)
Have any socialist orgs actually talked about this case? Any of them that are still marginally committed to “criminal justice reform”? Because this is exactly why we have to talk about the legal construction of “violence” and interpersonal violence in relation to antiblackness

Last month I interviewed Hua Boonyapisomparn of ThaiTGA for an essay I wrote on trans rights in Thailand.
She challenged the common perception that Thailand is an LGBT paradise and highlighted barriers many trans people still face. (1/3)
We discussed how legal frameworks, healthcare systems, workplaces, and policing still shape everyday discrimination, and how there remains a gap between policy and lived reality. There is still so much work to be done. (2/3)
