“I urge… that petitions, prayers, intercession… be made for all people.” — 1 Timothy 2:1. Intercession isn’t about fancy words—it’s about faithful presence. It’s choosing to carry others before God, even when you don’t have solutions. Sometimes we feel powerless watching the

…world around us. But prayer is not passive—it’s participation. When you intercede, you’re stepping into spiritual work that has real impact. Today, choose one group of people and intentionally pray for them: 1Home 2Work (or school) 3City 4Church

Picture them. Name them if you can. Ask God to strengthen, guide, and restore. Simply pray: “Lord, move in their lives. Do what only You can do.”

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST: I am in Moneta (near Roanoke), Virginia, to preach the 20th church anniversary of Troy Keaton and the Eastlake Community Church. The service was in a tent on campus, with close to 1,000 attendees. Ten minutes into the service, a sudden, severe weather event pulled the support poles out of the ground and blew the tent off. One of the elders of the church went to be with Jesus, and several others were seriously injured. Please pray for Pastor Troy, Eastlake Church, and this community - that the hope of our risen Savior would be theirs in abundance during this crisis.

Rise and Shine - it's time for Hosea 5! Okay, I admit that title was only a slant rhyme and not as good as the others. But to the chapter: One thing I enjoy about writing these devotionals is that they force me to reread passages that I might not (I’ll be honest here)…

away from God. It’s trapping you into making repentance harder and harder. I’ve seen this play out in my own life. It starts turning my prayers into cries of help without including surrender from my heart. My prayers can quickly turn into asking for relief but not include any…

change or plan of action. Israel will soon see that God is ready to receive repentant hearts and humility. You know what rules? God is ready for that today, too.

Snore no more - Read Hosea 4! If you watched the Hosea Bible Project video a few days ago, you might know the direction we’re going to head today. At first glance, this chapter is saying this: Israelites = Bad. Everybody, bad. Priests even, bad. But chapter 4 addresses the…

There are days I forget that God wants to be with me more than he wants my obedience and achievements. Those days I sit in shame from my sin and shortcomings. To be clear - he does want our obedience - but that is a symptom of being with God. The perfect amount of sunlight.

Perfect amount of rain. Perfect soil. It all stems from Him. A.W. Tozer once said, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” What do you think about God?

Only 4 verses? Read Hosea Chapter 3! This chapter is very short, but it says a LOT about the character of God. God told Hosea to go to the auction house to pay the cost of his wife, Gomer, for her adultery so that way he could bring her back home. She left him, followed…

her own desires, but he decided to forgive her anyway. Who on earth would pay the price for someone else’s rebellion and sin, in order to redeem them.. oh wait. Jesus. Jesus did that. This story is a beautiful depiction of the Gospel of Jesus and what He has done for us.

He died for us. He was the ransom for us. He is the redeemer. The book of Hosea is good, isn’t it? Today would be a great day to confess our sins to one another. We are the Gomer of this story, after all. After you confess, take a moment to give praise to God, the redeemer!

Sip your brew while you read Hosea 2! They had me in the first half, I’m not gonna lie.” - When I started reading this chapter, I thought Hosea was writing that he was through with his relationship with Gomer. I thought that he was tired of being cheated on and was done with…

Being in the wilderness isn’t punishment alone - it has a tendency to bring our attention back to what is actually important. Israel would soon come to feel it, and I think we feel it too. It’s simple, when you think about it. When we lack something, we feel need.

When we think we have what we need, we stop looking. Would you pray this with me? God fill my needs and change the desires of my heart to only want to be with you. Amen.

Today will be fun - read Hosea Chapter 1! The first 8 verses are depressing. Let’s look at how we got here: Israel is fractured here, but politically they’re booming - and the rest is history. Literally. The Old Testament has MANY examples of a nation gaining an ounce of power…

symbolize: 1. Punishment 2. No more love and forgiveness to Israel 3. Israel no longer being God’s people. That’s not the start I’d want for my 5-year prophet career path. But Hosea said yes to God and was able to showcase that being faithful to an unfaithful spouse is similar
