As the climate changes and temperatures increase in the summer, wouldn't it be great to see some urban street tree planting in Salisbury? Keep the town cooler, provides shade and also looks great. @wiltscouncil @SalisburyCC
NEW: “Of the 6,700 premature deaths attributed to higher temperatures in cities during 2015, 1/3rd of these could have been prevented by increasing urban tree cover up to 30%.” Cooling cities thru urban green infrastructure, via @TheLancet @ISGlobalorg thelancet.com/journals/lance…

Woodland regeneration at a site I manage in the Chilterns. Holly, beech, hornbeam, birch, ash, elder, hawthorn all coming up through a protective layer of bramble. Paths cut through the undergrowth & some bramble cut periodically each winter.

Don't forget you can take so many things to recycle though this scheme. There are plenty of drop-off points around Salisbury. The money raised goes to Medic4Medic.

This on a one way street In Salisbury in a 20 mph zone just before a bend where the cars are going about 10 mph. Where are the signs saying “Drivers drive with extreme caution and take care of more vulnerable road users.” ?@Activetravelsal @Vespasianvs1 @Al_BaylissLD

Salisbury Transition City mourns the death of Queen Elizabeth II. She was an inspirational leader and passionate about wildlife and nature. She launched projects such as The Queen's Green Canopy, which has provided 3 million trees to schools, charities and other groups.

The ITV show with Her Majesty and Sir David Attenborough touring the gardens of Buckingham Palace and discussing the trees and nature showed her huge knowledge and passion. She was a true leader and will be missed by us all.

The legacy of power, politics and failure in a single picture. The reality of what has been achieved. This is how England looked at 6:30am this morning. The legalised dumping of sewage onto our beaches witnessed in real-time.
