At
@TransnetNPA (TNPA), safety is not merely a compliance requirement; it is a core value that protects our people, our port users, and the communities we serve. Demonstrating our dedication to this, TNPA recorded no fatalities across its port operations in the 2025/26 financial year, a milestone that reflects our commitment to
#ZeroHarm
Over the past two days, TNPA hosted its annual Safety Proficiency Day at the Port of Cape Town under the theme “Ready, Skilled and United”. Teams from across the port system competed in safety demonstration categories, including man-overboard, SHE representative, firefighting, first aid, and environmental stewardship.
Our Acting Chief Executive, Mohammed Abdool, shared: “Safety is in the decisions we make, the shortcuts we refuse to take, and the standards we uphold even when no one is watching".
TNPA remains committed to strengthening health, safety, and environmental systems by investing in training and empowering every employee to speak up and act decisively when safety is at risk.
