The @BLMNational is using community fears about wildfire to justify their continued targeting of fire resistant mature and old growth forest.
Tree sitters in southern Oregon are putting their bodies on the line to defend these forests, and the communities that rely on them.
USFS and BLM hire timber companies to help thin federal forests to reduce wildfire risks. But environmentalists say the agencies are allowing the companies to take old and mature trees that are in fact best equipped to withstand wildfires.

‼️Treesitters have launched a SECOND occupation to stop @BLMOregon’s “Rogue Gold" timber sale, which targets old growth mature forest for logging.
This comes weeks after a successful protest against the Poor Windy sale, where old growth was protected after a month tree sit.
