BC Conservatives support welcoming the world to British Columbia. But a $913 million price tag and a public that doesn't trust the government's numbers makes clear the NDP has not managed this event responsibly or transparently.
Road closures and disruptions are hitting Metro Vancouver residents and businesses hard, while local businesses are warning about lost revenue during the event.
The NDP also failed to secure federal major event status, a designation created specifically to unlock federal security funding for events of this scale. Tens of millions of dollars were available. All the NDP had to do was communicate with Ottawa. They didn't, and British Columbians are left paying the bill.
The disconnect between what the NDP governments actions, and what is good for British Columbians astounding.
