BC Conservatives support welcoming the world to British Columbia. But a $913 million price tag and a public that doesn't trust the government's numbers makes clear the NDP has not managed this event responsibly or transparently. Road closures and disruptions are hitting Metro Vancouver residents and businesses hard, while local businesses are warning about lost revenue during the event. The NDP also failed to secure federal major event status, a designation created specifically to unlock federal security funding for events of this scale. Tens of millions of dollars were available. All the NDP had to do was communicate with Ottawa. They didn't, and British Columbians are left paying the bill. The disconnect between what the NDP governments actions, and what is good for British Columbians astounding.

Crown land belongs to British Columbians. MLA Lorne Doerkson’s Crown Land and Financial Transparency Act would require better notice, public reporting, and legislative review of Crown land decisions. Rural communities deserve clarity when public land and public funds are involved.

The BC Conservative Caucus is the most effective opposition in British Columbia history — no other opposition caucus has ever passed more private members’ bills. Since the party’s re-establishment, we’ve already delivered four bills into law. We didn’t wait to form government to start delivering results — and we’re just getting warmed up. Proud of my colleagues and the work we’re doing for British Columbians.

BC is facing a youth jobs crisis. More than 7,000 young people have left B.C. in the last year in search of greener pastures. We are watching our families and our future flee. conservativebc.ca/government…

Good news for highway safety in BC. MLA Ward Stamer’s Dashboard Cameras in Commercial Vehicles Act has passed third reading with unanimous support. This practical bill will require outward-facing dash cameras on commercial trucks, helping improve accountability, protect professional drivers, and support faster investigations.

The NDP have let a crisis in staffing fester for far too long. 9-1-1 Emergency Operators have been pushed to their limits with severe understaffing. Now, on the eve of #FIFAWorldCup, the Minister of Labour is finally paying attention. The safety of Operators is on the line, the safety of British Columbians, and now global visitors as well.
B.C. Labour Minister Jennifer Whiteside has appointed veteran labour mediator Vince Ready to assist in collective agreement negotiations with the union representing 911 emergency operators.

3 days ago it was Mission maternity, now it’s Ridge Meadows maternity. Keep those babies inside ladies on the north side of the river, Fraser Health has no Doctors for you! This is what inequitable funding of Fraser Health looks like. 40% of the population, but only 22% of the funding.
Due to a temporary gap in obstetrician-gynecologist coverage at Ridge Meadows Hospital, a maternity diversion will be in place from Friday, June 5 at 8:00 a.m. until Monday, June 8 at 8:00 a.m. Learn more: fraserhealth.ca/your-communi…

A new report from the Business Council of BC shows British Columbia is now the worst-performing province in Canada when it comes to youth employment. That's a distinction no province should want. 🧵1/ bcbc.com/insight/what-is-hap…

Record spending. Record failure. This is what 9 years of NDP governance looks like. British Columbians know it's time for a change. #bcpoli

The strength of this caucus has nothing to do with me. It's our MLAs, our staff, the people at the party, our members across BC. They show up every single day. That's what makes this team what it is.

We're in Premier Estimates at the BC Legislature today and tomorrow. This is one of the only chances MLAs get to put the Premier directly on the record to demand answers about his government's spending and decisions. Eby won't give them. Every question gets a dodge. That tells you everything. Watch live on YouTube. youtube.com/watch?v=pzKODgox…

BC taxpayers are on the hook for FIFA, and the NDP knows exactly how much. They just refuse to be transparent about it. They're now promising to release the number by the end of the month, which happens to be when this legislative session closes. This government doesn't do transparency. It does damage control. #bcpoli

Mission Accomplished! Today I amplified the voices of the families of Bailey McCourt and the friends of Laura Gover. And we achieved a meeting with a minister and an openness to GPS monitoring!! Fraser Health must act urgently to ensure former Chartwell Carrington House residents are not left in limbo. After being displaced by fire, vulnerable seniors deserve appropriate long-term care placements, clear communication, and a health care system that delivers when they need it most. bcconservativecaucus.ca/mla-…

The NDP wants to sell BC's natural gas to the world. And ban it in your home. The Minister of Housing sent a letter pressuring Vancouver City Council to ban natural gas. The Minister of Energy knew about it. But nobody thought that was a problem. They're championing LNG exports on the world stage while stripping energy choice from BC homeowners. #bcpoli

The NDP promised they'd fix the DRIPA mess in the spring. Then they promised the fall. Now even that promise is falling apart. Listen to the Attorney General's response. I ask her one simple question: will legislation to fix DRIPA be ready in the fall like they promised? She can't answer it. Let me be clear, the NDP won't fix DRIPA because that would require committing to a position. And after six flip-flops on DRIPA alone, we know that's something this government simply cannot do. #bcpoli

"If things get stalled here, we're going to be spending more time elsewhere in the country, because we need to move forward." That's Prime Minister Carney, responding directly to Eby and the NDP's obstruction of the Alberta pipeline. While Eby picks fights with neighbouring premiers, the rest of the country is ready to move on without us. The NDP would rather grandstand than put BC jobs and Canada's economy first. #bcpoli

The Premier wants to pick fights with Ottawa, pick fights with Alberta, call the pipeline an "Alberta project." I've got a different question for him: why isn't BC at the table? A pipeline through this country is good for BC. It's good for Canada. We should be building it, not blocking it. #bcpoli
