In the spirit of #Halloween, pediatric patients at @TriStarHealth enjoyed reverse trick-or-treating today. Doctors, nurses, child life specialists and colleagues paraded hospital halls delivering treats to our small, but mighty patients to brighten their day.

Colleagues at Tristar Horizon recently celebrated a big milestone for 41-year-old stroke survivor, Joanna. Following a stroke support group meeting, the team of therapists celebrated Joanna’s ability to stand and raise her arm, a big step in recovery for many stroke patients.

Each year, more than 2 million U.S. poisoning cases are reported, according to @NationalPoison. During #PoisonPreventionWeek learn how you can help if you think someone has been poisoned. Save the Poison Control phone number for quick access: 1-800-222-1222.
What to do if someone is poisoned o Take away the substance. o Have them spit out whatever is left in their mouth. o Move them away from toxic fumes. o Rinse skin or eyes for 15-20 minutes. o Remove contaminated clothing. Call 911 if you notice signs of life-threatening problems including seizures, trouble breathing, or not being awake or aware. For guidance on how to treat non-life-threatening issues, call Poison Control at 800-222-1222. Do not force the person to vomit, drink or eat anything unless instructed to do so by 911 or Poison Control.]
