Keir Starmer is a delusional f*cktard. The ban in Australia has been ineffectual, with 70% of kids able to circumvent it using tech and/or fake accounts. The same will happen here. Does he realise many of the youngsters he is p*ssing off with his pointless gesture politics will be old enough to vote his party out at the next election? Or perhaps he’s self-aware enough to know that will be Andy Burnham’s problem, not his.

For anyone who believes the opposition to the social media ban for under 16s is because people don’t care about child safety.. you are wrong. We just believe that protection for our kids is much better provided by stopping foreign rapists and paedos from entering our country illegally, by investing in proper policing, and by creating a justice system that doesn’t give nonces a slap on the wrist whilst imprisoning people who say hurty words on social media. We also have our eyes open to the potential for digital ID and total state surveillance by the back door that this will lead to. And all for a policy that has been proven ineffective in Australia.

For anyone who thinks BlueSky is exempt because it doesn’t have a problem with graphic content and nonces…
X banned for under-16s, but Bluesky isn’t. X shows crime, protests, political scandals and government failures. Bluesky is overwhelmingly left-wing and establishment-friendly. Children will be funnelled to left-leaning propaganda only. This is a two-tier social media ban. Starmer’s control grab. Fight it. 🇬🇧 (images courtesy of @BenGrahamUK)

I guarantee you, 90% of under 16s who didn’t already have a VPN will have signed up for one within minutes of Starmer’s announcement. This ban will be an expensive failure, as it has been in Australia, where upwards of 70% of kids are using tech workaround and/or false accounts to still access banned apps…

No more money for defence? But we can find - £63bn for net zero - £21bn for Ukraine - £33bn to give away and lease back our own Chagos Islands territories - £6bn to help other countries meet net zero targets! The money is there when he wants it to be…

What a presumptuous arse. Hasn’t even contested the by-election yet, and already talking about what he will do when he becomes PM. The voters of Makerfield are stupid if they think any of their concerns will be his priority if he becomes their MP.

A Trojan horse for total state surveillance. And what comes next?… restrictions on freedoms for citizens deemed to be acting against the interests of the state. Or in other words, punishing dissenters. This is the start of a socialist terror campaign against free speech.
“Adults can still access social media through age checks like facial recognition, digital IDs, passports and credit cards.” So there it is - this wasn’t about banning under 16s from social media, this was about giving EVERYONE a digital ID. RESIST 🚫

Remember that most of the political journalists asking @Keir_Starmer questions at his press conference on the social media ban for under-16s are the same ones who failed to ask the right questions at Downing Stteet press conferences for 18 months during lockdowns. Why? Because they supported the lockdowns so they didn't bother questioning the evidence or the cost-benefit analysis. They largely back the social media ban so they won't do their job today either.

Starmer’s social media ban is selective (Bluesky is exempt), authoritarian, and won’t work. He is rushing in a sledgehammer ban for political reasons. This isn’t about safety — it’s about control. It leads to every adult in the UK requiring digital ID to browse the internet… This is a Trojan horse for total state surveillance.

But just right wing platforms though, right? Bluesky gets an exemption, not because it doesn’t contain harmful content, but because it’s a predominantly left wing platform. Keir Starmer doesn’t care about protecting kids from genuinely harmful content, he cares about stopping them from seeing criticism of his government.
We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just can’t let that go on anymore. So we’re giving children their childhoods back.
Community note
The UK Government's 'careful review' of the research found a small correlation between children's use of social media and wellbeing, but no evidence of a causal effect: gov.uk/government/pub… assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/696e0b46…

Of course they are. These middle-class vegan trust-fund cry babies have never had to deal with the real-world consequences of their actions. I’m sure the shortage of quinoa and soy lattes in our prisons must take some adjustment for them
Four Pro-Palestine activists sentenced to SIX years in prison and branded TERRORISTS by judge over damage at Israeli arms factory in UK. Friends say the criminals are already 'struggling with their mental health' and that this outcone could 'tip them over the edge.

Farage says Reform UK will force foreign nationals to find private accommodation, and give priority for council homes to British nationals, veterans, domestic abuse victims and care leavers. Good.

My only caveat is the 3 month grace period that will be permitted... Many private landlords demand 2 months rent as a deposit. For most of the foreign nationals affected by this, it will be difficult to save 2 months rent for a rental deposit in just 3 months. A grace period of 6 months is more reasonable.

26,000 still here a decade after their asylum claims rejected?! How can that be?… the Tories were in charge for 8 of those years, they are as much to blame…

Starmer plans to reduce the mandate requiring 80% of new car sales by 2030 to be all-electric models to 50%. Good… the target is unrealistic, and is pushing up the price of vehicles for all of us. But the targets should be scrapped altogether! If most people actually wanted electric vehicles, there wouldn’t be a need for a mandate at all.

Ed Miliband will be annoyed, but he’s thrown his support behind Andy Burnham anyway (with the promise to be his Chancellor in return)… so it won’t be his problem for much longer anyway.

Why has it become accepted normality now for legacy media to call anyone protesting against immigration “far right”? The Nazist connotations of the phrase have either been forgotten, or are being deliberately utilised to unfairly tarnish those with legitimate concerns about border security. Either way, it is wrong.

PRIZE PRICK Owen Jones calls the Palestine Action thugs who fractured a policewoman’s spine with a sledgehammer and rammed a van into a building “dissidents” being locked up. Yet he was quick to condemn violence in Belfast just days ago. This is the same left-wing hypocrisy we see everywhere — excusing terrorist-supporting scum when it suits their agenda while screaming about “far-right” threats. Remember these words, Jones. Your double standards are on full display. 🇬🇧 (image courtesy of @Alexarmstrong)
