“Standardized scores combined with high school GPA support this goal by improving early identification of students who demonstrated the greatest academic achievement, the most potential, and those who can most benefit from support through our student success programs."
The data continue to accumulate that test scores help colleges admit students best equipped to succeed at a given institution. Key takeaways from UT Austin's decision to again require test scores: on average, students who do not submit scores have significantly lower scores and do significantly worse in college. @UTAustin is doing it right and putting the needs of students first; in just 10 years, its graduation rate has risen from 52% to 75%. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 #SAT #ACT news.utexas.edu/2024/03/11/u…

With grades alone, colleges could never see how brightly an exceptional yet disadvantaged student shines…We need the SAT and ACT to help colleges find these diamond scholars.
