Yesterday, my wife tweeted a single line about a local Dublin Bay North election candidate Barry Heneghan, pretty mildly expressed, and received a weird defensive blast reply from him.
He wasn’t going to get my No 1, but now he’s not getting single digits.

Do you know how the new flashing amber arrows work?
· Drivers going straight ahead should proceed through the junction as normal, following the traffic lights.
· When the amber arrow flashes, drivers turning left must watch out for cyclists going straight ahead or turning before proceeding.
· Drivers can make their turn once safe to do so.
· Cyclists should follow the signals provided for their desired travel direction and proceed with caution. Remember that all vehicles have blind spots and the driver may not be able to see you.

I am seething over the schools abuse report.
It is going to take me a few days to articulate a practical road forward.
All I can say is that at each previous similar moment a show of state sympathy has been followed by a long war against survivors, to protect institutions.

Reminder: the intervention of the current FF leader, as Taoiseach, undermined final efforts just 2 years ago to prevent transfer by the state of the National Maternity Hospital into control of one of the orders of nuns.
