KY bluegrasses up in less than a week? Absolutely! These aren't your grandpa's bluegrasses. This is the new @alistturf KBG trial and it's off to a great start.
A big seeding on a hot day! That’s what we’re doing to improve disease resistance in tall fescue. About 1,400 plots were planted in this trial and will be evaluated for gray leaf spot resistance. Very excited to see this one progress!

In the middle of seed harvest in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. 12 months of watering, spraying, fertilizing, roguing and praying…. And just like that, we’ll start all over again 😉
Scalping tall fescue to begin some #pollinator research with @VAturf. Lawns don't have to be a mono-stand of just grass. Thanks to @RyanSchwab_turf for assistance with this trial.
Ever wonder if @alistturf testing is legit? Check out the drought stress on our new creeping bentgrass trial. We also see dollar spot on some of the plots because the nitrogen rate is very low. A-LIST certainly separates the men from the boys. Pretty cool and hardcore research.
After a ridiculous amount of rain over the past couple of months, we've finally dried out enough where we had to fire up the irrigation. Got to keep this newly planted creeping bentgrass study happy.
We had a 'super helpful' assistant (my 9 y.o.) helping us get this @BRANDT_co trial out looking at thatch breakdown and soil health in C3 and C4 grass stands.

It may be time to give some of the new tall fescues a look for areas other than lawns and roughs!

We mainly conduct turfgrass research at PARC but we also dabble in a little of everything. Wildflower research is some of our favorite because of the beauty but also our honeybees and other pollinators love them!
If you've ever wondered if spending a few extra cents per pound for improved seed makes sense or not, check out the dividing line between my place and the neighbors. I'll go with dense and dark green all day!
Thanks!!! I’m sure we could find a little space in there for Dr. Munshaw and Daniel but there’s some pretty cool research equipment that needs to go in there too 😜
