Today, our Literacy Liaison teams (TMSM and Tuscaloosa Magnet Elementary School TMSE) met at TCTA for our annual Literacy Summit! We are reviewing last year’s successes, networking with other TCS schools, and drafting some exciting plans for the new school year! #tuscaloosareads

TMSM swept many awards at the 2024 STEM Showcase, hosted by UA this weekend. 16/26 of our students won an award. 6 projects earned 1st place; 4 earned runner-up. Two projects earned specialty awards, and 1 got the "Best in Show"! All 1st place students compete in Birmingham!

Magnet 8th grade students have begun the "Action" part of their IB community "Passion" projects! Project initiatives include the recycling team, STEM/music/reading instruction for afterschool program students, picnic table construction, school garden improvement, and many more!

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month! TMSM will partner with TMSE to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, please bring $1.00 to wear your favorite hat. All proceeds will go towards JDRF!
